*****Giveaway has ended, the winner is announced below*****
I was so excited to find out that there are two new flavors of Honey Bunches of Oats. My family LOVES Honey Bunches of Oats, we love the strawberry kind, the peach kind, the almond variety and several of the the others….but we’ve now fallen in love with the 2 varieties that are made with Greek Yogurt!
These 2 boxes of cereal, the nice white bowls, and spoons arrived just before dinner time. I was in the kitchen, trying to decide what I was going to throw together for dinner. Once my kids saw that the cereal was Honey Bunches of Oats they started asking for a bowl! I thought what a perfect, easy dinner for me to “make”…cereal for dinner! My 2 year old asked for the “pink” cereal.
I poured her a bowl Honey Bunches of Oats Greek Mixed Berry.
Mmmmm, doesn’t it look so yummy?
This cereal is similar to the original variety because it has it’s whole grain flakes and those delicious granola clusters, but they have added the sweet taste of strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry. Then they combined these with the tangy flavor of Greek yogurt to make a delicious addition to the cereal.
Aside from the amazing flavor, this new Greek Mixed Berry Honey Bunches of Oats boasts some pretty impressive nutritional stats. A serving size is 1 cup of cereal-when you eat one cup you get 33g of whole grains. That is over 2/3 rds of your days whole grain suggestion! WOW! It gets even better, this cereal is heart healthy, provides 12 essential vitamins and minerals, and also has 5g protein per serving. Each cup is only 230 calories! I also really love that they have this super easy to see/read nutritional facts on the box!
This is a cereal that I can feel GOOD about feeding my whole family! As I mentioned above the taste is incredible! My 2 year old gobbled her entire bowl up in just a couple of minutes and then asked for more! In fact, I hadn’t even had a chance to pour a complete bowl for my other children by the time she had asked for more! She LOVES this cereal!
I started to pour them each a bowl of cereal.
I didn’t get too far when I all of the sudden had 2 little hands in the first bowl I was pouring!
They were SO anxious to try it, they couldn’t wait!
The Honey Bunches of Oats Greek Honey Crunch also had the crunchy flakes, but in this variety they included 2 unique granola’s made with real Greek yogurt. My older girls REALLY liked this kind! Just like the the Mixed Berry cereal, this one also has 33g of whole grains, 5 g of protein, and is only 230 calories per serving!
After re-filling everyone’s bowl twice, I finally got to pour myself a bowl! I prefer my cereal dry, without milk, so to find a cereal that tastes good, even when dry is very exciting for me! I couldn’t try just one kind, I had to try both! My entire family loved it! They asked for it for breakfast and LUNCH the next day. They even requested it for dinner, but I had already made lasagna.
The boxes seemed a bit smaller than the average size cereal box to me, but the contents weighed over 16 ounces and that equates to one of the “big” boxes, I love that Post Brand cares enough to use smaller boxes and not unnecessarily use more cardboard! My family is definitely a huge fan of these 2 new varieties and I will certainly be buying a lot more of this cereal!
