Recently I was introduced to a really neat company called I See Me. They are the makers of personalized children’s books that are available to purchase through their website. These are the kind of books that incorporate your child into the story. For example: one of the books they offer is “MyVery Own Fairy Tale” book. In this book the fairies in the story incorporate the letters of your child’s name into the story.
The company sent me one of the books for my daughter. It is titled “My Very Own World Adventure StoryBook”.
Upon receiving the book I showed it to my daughter. She was quite surprised that the book was about her. She immediately took the book into our living room a started to read it. After a few minutes she was like, “Mama, this book is talking to me”. Well not literally I imagine. I’m assuming she meant that the story within the book was speaking to her.
Later on that evening I laid down with her to read her the book as a bedtime story. The book was truly a fun read. The story went through all of the letters of her name. With each letter they introduced a new country and another child from the country. The child from the country told about their country and a custom or tradition. It was a really neat way to incorporate my daughters name into the story while teaching her about the different countries of the world.
My daughter’s name is Victoria. The first letter is V and the first child that greeted us and told us a little about her country is this cute little girl from Venezuela.
When we landed on letter ‘I’ we saw this cute girl from Italy and learned a bit about her story. And so on with the last name. Few other countries we visited were Ireland, Cuba, Thailand, Romania, Saudi Arabia, France, Ethiopia and many others. Because my daughter has 17 letters in her first & last name we were able to visit 17 countries. So for example if your child’s name is Jack, he might visit Japan, Argentina, Cambodia and Kenya. And if your child’s name is short, let’s say Jon Paul he will only visit 7 countries to be sure to add at least your child’s middle name when you order a book. The length of this book is really depend on the length of your child’s name.
At the end of the book was a sort of glossary of every country. For each country they showed a picture of a child and some type of gift or custom they would introduce.
The great thing about the pictures of the children and the pictures of the countries was the artwork. They were not actual photographs but paintings or drawings of these children and locations. From what I’ve learned these are original images from the artists from that country being represented. The colors and pictures were very vibrant and really added something special to the book. My daughter really felt special knowing that she has her very own personal storybook that she can cherish for a lifetime.
I see me also sells Gift sets, Personalized coloring books and Personalized Placemats. The “Dreamy Day” Custom Placemat (that you see above) that my daughter received has her name on it in large letters, is very colorful. This plastic Placemat look and feel very good quality, durable and easily wiped clean with the damp paper towel and is BPA free. The second Place-mat I ordered for my daughter’s friend Chloe who’s birthday is coming up in May. I think this is a great gift addition. My daughter loves it.
I’m very happy I found I see Me and and learned about their Children’s Personalized Story books.
