The Princess and The Popstar Movie review and Barbie™ themed party

Do you want to know how to make a bunch of 6-year-old girls really happy? If you have kids or grandkids I’m sure you do.  Well I have an answer to that question and it is to throw them a Barbie™ party.  I recently got the perfect opportunity to throw a Barbie™ party for my daughter and 7 of her friends.  You see a company that is promoting the new Barbie movie “The Princess and the Pop star” contacted me.  They provided me with two full sized Barbie dolls.
One is the Princess and one is the Pop star.  They also sent me the DVD for “The Princess and the Pop star”, a bunch of Tiaras, coloring pages, trivia activity and small Barbie dolls for all of the girls attending the party.
When I first told my daughter about the plans for the Barbie party she jumped up and down and ran around the house screaming, “Barbie Party, Barbie Party!!”.  She was so excited she was ready to party at the very moment.  I told her that I had to organize the event and wasn’t sure when it would take place.  She then asked if we could have a small Barbie party for her right then and there.  I told her to be patient and that good things come to girls who wait.  She was okay with that.
Next I started making some phone calls to parents I knew that had girls ages 6-10.  I figured this was the best age group for this type of party.  Within the same day one of my friends who has a 6-year-old girl agreed to not only host the party but had 3 girls that wanted to come as well.  This was great news.  We set the party for the following Friday evening.
Before the party I sent my husband out to get some juice boxes, some cookies and chips for the party.  My 10 year old son agreed to be my assistant and help out with co-hosting and running the party.  I have to say he was great and maybe he has a future as a party hoster.  The party began around 3 pm in my friend’s apartment.  There were a total of 8 girls in attendance ages 6-8 years old. I told the parents to dress their daughters in Princess or the Pop star outfits. Some did and they were so cute! I found it very surprising that most of the girls wanted to be a pop-star, not the princess. We started the party off with some snacks and a quick introduction to why I invited everyone.
We introduced the girls to the new movie The Princess & the Popstar where Barbie plays Princess Tori who dreams of living a popstar life just like favorite singer Keira. Meanwhile, Keira longs to leave her superstar life and dreams of being a real-life princess like Tori. As you can guess, the girls switch places, adventure ensues, and they both learn valuable lessons about being yourself and appreciating the life you have! It’s something we strive to teach our girls everyday!
My son then handed out the tiaras to all of the girls and we then put in the movie.  The girls sat through the movie until its completion without once complaining or fidgeting.  This tells me that the movie was very entertaining for them.

After my son handed out the mini-dolls and coloring pages.  We then played some Barbie™ “Princess and the Pop star”, trivia games.  This was great fun all around.  Even my son knew some of the answers although he didn’t want to admit it.  All of the girls had a great time and it was evident by the big smiles on their faces.

This new movie the “Princess and the Pop star” was a smashing hit.  I’m real happy that I was given this opportunity to host this wonderful Barbie™ Party
