It’s starting to look allot like __________. Okay so you fill in the blank with your holiday of preference. I realize that not everyone celebrates Christmas and even though that is how the song goes it is nice to be all inclusive. In the spirit of the holidays I was thinking about what my family and I could watch on Netflix. You know something new that we haven’t seen before that is related to the holidays. Holiday movies that were streaming on Netflix last year may not be there now. With that said there might be new movies available on Netflix that you have not seen before. So make sure you search and update your preferences so you don’t miss anything.
I usually search for movies on Netflix using my Roku streaming device that is attached to my TV. However today I decided to search for holiday movies using my laptop. I figure it is easier to type on my laptop and select movies. So the first search term I entered was ‘Holiday’ and up came 9 movies with 7 of them related to the holidays. Among them were “Kung fu Panda Holiday”, “Mr. Beans Holiday”, and “A Holiday Engagement.” Out of those there the only one I saw was Mr. Beans Holiday. As a matter of fact it is one of my families favorite movies. The only thing is it’s not about the holidays but a vacation or holiday that Mr. Bean takes. I guess it really doesn’t matter because it is guaranteed to make you and your family laugh.
The next search I entered into Netflix was ‘Christmas’. This search produced many more movies that were related to the holidays. Hilarious comedies such as “Christmas with The Kranks”, and “I’ll be Home for Christmas” and heart warming family movies like “Christmas Angel”, and “The Heart of Christmas.” One cannot talk about holiday movies without mentioning the animated movies like, “Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas”, “The Cat in the Hat Knows A lot about Christmas”, and “The Night Before Christmas.” These are all good movies to watch with the family as you snuggle up on the couch with some hot chocolate and healthy sugar cookies.
The holiday season is the time of giving, kindness, and peace. So for those of you that know of friends and family that do not have Netflix, now is a great time to get it for them as a gift. Of course you have to make sure they have streaming capabilities in their home first. If they have wired or wireless Internet service and a smart TV then they should be good to go. If not you may need to get them a Roku streaming device first or Apple TV if you prefer. I personally gave my folks a Netflix annual subscription last holidays season and they thoroughly enjoy it. As a matter of fact they have been dropping some heavy hints about what they want this year. Guess what its subscription to Netflix!
To celebrate, we’re gearing up for the biggest party of the year — New Year’s Eve — and we want you to get you in on the fun, too. Well, I don’t really GET to choose the TV Channel when the hubby is home. And he is home every evening so it’s online or a book for me mainly.
