One of my daughter’s favorite toys growing up were blocks. She loves building them up and she especially loves to knock them down. My son is now getting to the age where he is also starting to like blocks. Right now he is just in the knocking down phase but he could do it all day. Just today though I sat down with him and I showed him how to stack the blocks and he started to try to stack them, it was so fun watching his little brain work so hard to get those blocks together. Since blocks is an all time favorite toy in our house for both kids I thought it would be fun to add to our block collection this Christmas with the Large Starter Block Set from HABA.
This block set comes with 60 pieces.
- 4 arches
- 8 cylinders
- 22 cubes
- 16 rectangles
- 10triangles
There is so much that a child can learn from playing with the HABA block set.
Since there are a variety of shapes included in this block set, it is easy to teach these shapes to your child as they play. It is also a great way for children to learn important motor skills like eye-hand coordination by building tall towers. Another important skill that can be developed through block building is the child’s imagination. Everyday will be a new creation and everyday your child’s imagination will grow through hours of creative play.
The HABA Large Block Set comes with a bag.
One of the things I get so annoyed about regarding blocks is that I feel like they are always all over my kids rooms and no matter how many times I try to clean them up they always find their way into every corner. I love that the HABA block set comes with a bag, now our blocks will have a specific place to go just for the blocks, so we can easily dump them all out when we want them and then gather them back into the bag when we are done.
Even I had fun building with my daughter, who by the way did not like the idea of putting them away until her brother got to open them on Christmas morning. Just look at my awesome castle!
I think that blocks are the perfect gift for kids of all ages, from the early age of a year (maybe even a little bit younger) and up to preschool ago (even a little older). I can already hear and see the many block building memories my children have ahead of them this up coming Christmas morning and new year as they build together!
