A new Minion toy just hit shelves and we have had so much fun reviewing the new Turbo Dave Minion MiP! I’ve reviewed a few toys from WowWee company in the past. When the chance to review this new minion robot came, I jumped on it! The other MiP toys we have are played with constantly at my house. They are also a friend favorite when we have visitors over. With Despicable Me 3 coming out in theaters in just a couple days, this minion toy is sure to be one of the hottest toys of the summer!
How to play with Turbo Dave Minion Toy
On the back of his head, there is the on/off button. To get Dave to stand up, place on a level ground and gently rock it back and forth until it grabs traction. Then let go! You can place your hand in front of the minion toy and by swiping left right, forward or backwards, he will follow your hand.
This Minion MiP also has a fun feature of tickling. Just by placing your hand on his head for 2 seconds, he will start to laugh as if he had been tickled. Turbo Dave has 4 different modes to play in. You switch modes by rotating the wheels backwards or forwards. The modes are indicated by the LED light on the toy. Blue is default mode and pink is dance mode (which is quite hilarious). White is free roam where Dave will just free roam for as long as you let him. Orange is guard mode. Minion MiP comes with several instruction sheets so it is easy to play with right off the bat. He also comes with a fart blaster.
Turbo Dave Minion MiP App
In addition to free play, you can also download the free app. Via your smart device using the app, you can draw a path and Turbo Dave will follow it. There is also drive mode and VS where two minion toys can battle it out with their fart blaster. There are also cards and emotions features in the app. Below is a video review my daughter and I did that shows Turbo Dave in action as well as more details about the app.
The Turbo Dave minion toy is available on Amazon for $79.95 and ships free with prime! This toy is recommended for ages 8 and up. When my younger two want to play with it, I make sure one of their older siblings is there to run the toy. When I asked my kids to give me a sum up of their thoughts on this toy, they said:
“It cracks me up the whole time I play with it!”-Age 10
“I really like the dance mode, the songs are funny.” -Age 9
“I like it. Actually, I love it!”- Age 6
“That is my minion”- Age 2 (Possibly also said with some attitude-oh 2 year olds!)
