If you have a child at home especially a teen or pre-teen you most likely have to battle with them to put away their electronic devices. It seems like all kids know nowadays is how to play games on their tablets and watch videos on YouTube. Well I say if that is all they know than it is time to introduce them to other hands on activities that will take them away from digital overload.
My daughter is really into creative activities and pretty much anything with arts & crafts. I found for her this really great device called the Pottery Cool Studio.
What is Pottery Cool Studio?
It’s a complete pottery craft set that allows anyone to create some really cool things out of clay. It includes everything you need to get started right away, out of the box, like 4 discs of clay, metallic paint, instructions, paint brushes, molds and more. The only thing you need to provide is 4 C batteries (not included).
This past weekend she made her very own custom designed jewelry holder. First she molded the clay using the Pottery Cool Studio turntable. With the help of some water from the included spray bottle the new creation was taking shape in her hands. It was like watching a professional potter at work.
In no time she molded the clay into this awesome looking bowl. She then used the tools to make some holes around the edges and set out the clay to dry.
The next day when it was fully hardened and dry she applied the included paint to her creation. After all of the paint was dry she was ready to add her jewelry. Check out the completed project below. My 10 y.o. really enjoyed making her own pottery and check out her video of making a pottery vase in action from start to finish (below).
Overall from start to finish it took her about 2 hours of time. This was creative hands on time that both of us were able to enjoy together.
This is real pottery that your kids can actually do themselves. It’s easy to use and not too difficult to clean up. In the video above also pay attention to my daughter’s tips about if clay starting to fall apart.
Pottery Cool Studio lets your child create COOL stuff that they can really use – like phone speakers or phone holder, jewelry holders, pencil holders, cute decorative small animals and so much more!
Not only kids are able to make and use products that they make, but I love that your little artist can put their imagination into to play and even make a unique gifts for their friends.
Are you and your little artist as excited as we are to start creating new pottery projects with Pottery Cool Studio?
Pick it up at Walmart.com! It is perfect for kids and tweens who love crafts and DIY projects and makes it a very good gift idea.

I really appreciate anything that gets kids off the tablets and doing something, anything other than playing games or watching tv. I’m totally fine with all that stuff, but they need creative outlets such as this. I’ve always wanted to take a pottery class myself, so I can imagine this is a lot of fun.Your daughter’s jewelry holder is cool!

HI Billie, I totally agree with you. That is why I look for creative outlets for my kids. This Pottery Cool studio I really enjoyed putting my hands on pottery myself (for the first time) it feels good to me too. Perhaps this can be a start to adult pottery 🙂
