Atlanta CityPass Review

09/16/2014 By Ashley Leave a Comment

My family and I this past year moved to the Atlanta area and we love it here! The weather is always nice, and when I say always I include the rainy days cause I love the rain! There is also so much to do in this area. Some of the things we love to do is hike, go swimming and explore. Part of exploring a new place usually includes enjoying the touristy things. Atlanta has a ton of awesome tourist spots like their zoo (check out my review of the zoo here), the World of Cocoa Cola Museum, the aquarium, CNN, just to name a few. As soon as we got here we couldn’t wait to check out our new home and all the great places it had for us to visit.

Recently my family and I got the opportunity to visit two of those tourist spots, World of Coca Cola and the Georgia Aquarium, thanks to Atlanta CityPass.

City Passes

With this citypass you pay $74 for an adult or $59 for a child (age 3-12). It sounds like a lot but wait until you hear what you can do with one city pass.

You get tickets to 5 of Atlanta’s most popular tourist spots:

-Georgia Aquarium (normally $38.95 for adults and $32.95 for children)

-World of Coca-Cola (normally $16 for adults and $12 for children)

-CNN Studio Tour (normally $35 for adults)

-Atlanta Zoo or Atlanta History Center (You choose one or the other) (Zoo adults: $21.99, children: $16.99) (History Center adults: $16.50, children: $11.00)

-Fernbank Museum of Natural History or High Museum of Art (Again you choose one or the other) (Fernbank adults: $18, children: $$16) (Art adults: $19.50, children: $12)

So by my husband and I, our daughter was free, going to just the World of Coca-Cola and the Aquarium we did not make up for original cost but if we had gone to our next choice (CNN Tour) we would have made up for the price and would have ended up saving over $10 a person.

The way that the CityPass works is easy. You even get to go through the member lines which are a lot faster. You just pull out your CityPass and present it to the ticket booth and they scan the ticket for that particular place that you are at, some may even take the ticket like they did at The World of Coca-Cola. Also don’t pull your tickets out ahead of time or they will no longer be valid. One thing you do need to remember is that once you use your first ticket the booklet will expire within 9 days so it is a good idea to plan ahead so you can use as many of the tickets as possible to get the best deal. That was the reason we only used two because my husband’s schedule didn’t give us enough time to use more. Before you use the tickets though there will be an expiration date on the inside of your booklet that says how long they will last before you use them, mine was for about a year after I got the tickets so it gave for a lot of time for us to plan something.

If you do end up getting the Atlanta CityPass I recommend going to as many of the attractions that you can but to definitely try to get to the Georgia Aquarium and The World of Coca-Cola. Those two places were a lot of fun.

Savannah in Aquarium

My 20 month old loved all the fish and especially the tanks that went down to the floor so she could stand and look into them!

Sharks

Awesome whale sharks in their big salt water fish tank!

Stingrays Touch Tank

One of their many touch tanks!

My daughter also loved their dolphin show. She couldn’t stop clapping and asking for more every time a dolphin jumped out of the water.

Main Display

Main Display that you see as you wait to start the guided part of the museum, it only lasts about 15 minutes and then you are on your own to explore.

Old Coca Cola

Some of their old Coca-Cola adds from around the world!

Asian Sodas

They have a tasting room where you can try different Coca-Cola products from around the world. In my opinion America has the best flavors of Coca-Cola sodas.

Some of the other cool things was the 4D movie and the Coca-Cola commercials from around the world. It was interesting to see what was in each commercial that was unique to those countries.

Are you not planning on visiting Atlanta any time soon? That’s ok because there is a CityPass in many other cities around the country (they even have one in Canada) like Boston and Seattle. Check out their main website to see if they have a CityPass for the city near you or one you are planning on visiting soon!

*I received samples of the products mentioned above for free to facilitate this post. All opinions are mine.
