Smartmax Home Sweet Home Review

09/11/2014 By Ashley 1 Comment

Recently my husband and I have run into the problem of our 20 month old starting to out grow most of her baby toys and needing toys that stimulate her more mentally. Because of this I have started searching for fun new toys for my daughter that will be more entertaining and educational for her. That is when I came across a company named SmartMax. Right away from the pictures displayed on their site I knew their products were made for toddlers and younger children, but when I saw the product I thought that that must be a mistake because they looked just like the magnetix toys that my brother used to have which were small rods with magnets in them and small metal balls. I would never allow my daughter to play with those because I know exactly where they would go… in her mouth and down her throat.

Then I looked closer and saw that yes this product was like the magnetix but were indeed for toddlers and young children, they were bigger and safer. I thought that was so cool that I could get my daughter a fun and mentally stimulating toy that I would not have thought were an option.

Home Sweet Home

They have many different sets that you can choose from but the set that I got for my daughter was their Home Sweet Home set. With this set there are the two homes you can build that are on the front of the box above and they are also pictured below.

Home 1

Home 2

These are the recommended items to build with this set but of course you can build anything, as long as it only uses the contents provided. Speaking of the contents, this particular set comes with:

Supplies

-16 metal balls (big enough that your child will not choke on them, my daughter has tried to put them in her mouth but they are too big.)

-2 windows

-2 pairs of shutters (Some how my daughter managed to loose one of each shutter within the first 5 minutes of opening the package so we should have one more red and one more pink shutter but now they are probably in air vent along with a gift card or two!)

-4 panels with holes

-2 rooftops

-2 clip on panels

-2 flowers, a yellow and pink

-12 medium bars

-4 XL bars

Lots of contents to start building some homes or even some other ones from the recommended booklet that comes with the set or ones from your imagination. That is why I think this toy is so fun, the dreaming up of designs never ends.

Another thing my daughter loves to do is tear apart the creations I put together. It is just so fun for her. She also loves to use one of the medium rods and one metal ball put together and pretend that it is a microphone and talk or sing into it. There is just so much imagining and creativity that can happen while playing with these toys. Another cool feature about this company is that you can buy more sets to add onto your current sets and watch your Smartmax collection grow.

Below are some of the recommended buildings that I put together and at the bottom is my daughter’s own creation.

She had a lot of fun putting this together and it is fun to watch her explore this new toy and try and figure out how it works and then try and figure out how to put it together. I can really see her gears turning every time she plays with this toy. I can honestly say that I have no complaints about this product. It is everything I thought it would be and more. I definitely recommend this toy to anyone with toddlers and small children!

*I received samples of the products mentioned above for free to facilitate this post. All opinions are mine.
