For Father’s Day, I just wanted to take a moment to talk about how incredible my husband is. He is an ER nurse and works so hard to help his patients. Day after day, he works in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, where people’s lives are in the balance. He is also going to school, full time, to finish his BSN. But no matter how busy his schedule is, he always makes sure that our family comes first. When he is at home, he is always quick to help me with housework and the children. He has commandeered dish duty, in our home. I appreciate how that frees me up, to get the other house work done. Not only is he smart and a hard worker, but he is such a tender guy! Even with his crazy schedule, he makes time to rub my poor pregnant feet and back and helps me with my Hypnobabies hypnosis, so that I’m ready for birth. I feel so pampered by him!
He is also, an amazing Father! He and the kids share a love of superheros, so I will often see them running through the house, capes streaming, fighting all kinds of bad guys. But my favorite thing that he does, is tell them a bedtime story, every night. My husband tells them amazing stories about heroic deeds, fantastical worlds, and crazy adventures. (He really is a great story teller!) The children love his stories and always beg for just one more. They love the stories so much, that they will often ask for another story, just after they wake up, in the morning. I love that he takes this special time each night to be with them.
My husband has got bath time down! He is an expert in bubble hairdos, and will give each kids a signature daddy styling! Sometimes he will even incorporate the nightly story into bath time, crafting an underwater or high seas adventure, for the kids. The kids love bath time with daddy!
