Best Ever Rice Krispie Treats! One ingredient I never thought of adding!

06/09/2014 By Irina 43 Comments

easy rice crispiesRice Krispie Treats are one of the easiest and tastiest treats.

I always think of Rice Krispies and No Bake Cookies are the two treats that kids can start cooking and baking because they are so simple and easy.

I will admit though.

Sometimes I can never make the Rice Krispies right. A lot of times they get so hard you can barely cut them!!

Actually I did make them once for a party and I didn’t notice until we were going home that the Rice Krispies were so hard! I was completely embarresed and threw the rest of the “Hard Treats” away!

This recipe for Rice Krispies is a NO FAIL! Like even more no fail than regular Rice Krispies. (How is that even possible?…if you’re not me at least1)

So this super special secret ingredient in this Rice Krispie ingredient is...Marshmallow Creme!

All you need is 3 simple ingredient to this recipe, 8 cups of Rice Crispies, Marshmallow Creme (13 oz.), and 4 TBS of butter.

blog.rice.crispiesMaking them is even easier then regular Rice Krispies.

Recipe for Rice Krispies with Marshmallow Creme:

Ingredients:

-8 cups of Rice Krispies (When I make them again I will probably only do 7 cups for more Marshmallowy-ness)
-13 oz. of Marshmallow Creme
-4 TBS butterclose up of crispiesDirections:

1. Melt your butter in a saucepan on med-hi heat.

2. Once the butter is melted add in the whole tub of marshmallow creme. Stir constantly, until smooth. It will be lumpy at first but after a few minutes it’ll be smooth. Leave it on the heat for 30 seconds to a minute once it’s smooth.

3. Take it off the heat and add Rice Krispies 2 cups at a time.

4. Get a cake pan and spray with cooking spray. Press down warm Rice Krispies.

You’re done. Just like regular Krisipes but with a newer and more delicious marshmallow taste!!

short but good pic!The best treats EVER! Go make them now, your taste buds will thank you! Enjoy this tweaked version of Rice Krispies!

What a great idea to use the Kraft Jet-Puffed marshmallow crème for the Rice Crispy treats! I love easy treats but like you I don’t like “hard” Rice Crispy treats. I have been eating marshmallow crème since I was a kid and never thought about using it instead of marshmallows. Thanks for the special ingredient!! 🙂

Count me in! We go through that type of cereal (like Rice Krispies but not that brand) that I buy it in the big bag instead of by the box. All I need now is to get a jar of Marshmallow Creme and I’m good to go. Thanks!

My mom used to make these all of the time when we were younger, but I’ve never made them. This looks like a really easy recipe, and I think my kids would love them, too. I’ll see if they want to make them one weekend. Thanks for the awesome recipe!

I absolutely love Rice Krispy Treats. They are at the top of my list of fast easy sweets to make. I always use the marshmallow cream because it makss ygem softer and it’s so much easier than melting the regular or mini marshmallows.

I recently made a cake that I was skeptical of (due to the ingredients… especially since it was a vegan cake and I’m not vegan!), but was really pleasantly surprised. A lot of people had no idea it was vegan, and all liked it!

You women need to get out more. Of course you can sub cream for whole Marshmallows.
You can also sub chocolate krispies. I have also put peanut butter in it, or Trader Joe’s cookie butter. Or Cheerie O’s if you are in a pinch and don’t have the rice krispies.

So what is better is instead of rice crispies is using “Frosted Corn Flakes”. Amazing. I love both but using corn flakes is alot better. Great recipe!

One thing I’ve noticed about hard rice krispie treats is that it usually comes from pressing them down too firmly into the pan. If you press them down just enough to get the top flat, you should get softer squares!

I’m a vegetarian, so I’d been looking for a good recipe for Rice Krispie treats. Turns out, marshmallow fluff has no gelatin! These turned out pretty good but I think I’ll add vanilla extract next time for added sweetness.
