Bamboobies Nursing Pads {Giveaway}

05/28/2014 By Irina 23 Comments

I love nursing my babies!  I love the bonding time and the special experiences that it brings.  But sometimes I feel like the items that are supposed to help with nursing, just make it more work!  Disposable nursing pads stick to you (ouch!), they leak, and they retain moisture, which is not helpful when you are sore.  Plus, I tend to nurse my kids for a long time, and disposable nursing pads get very expensive, when you are buying them over and over again.

Reusable nursing pads are much more cost effective and gentle when you are sore, but unfortunately, not all reusable nursing pads are created equally.  Some brands leak, often they are thick and show through your clothes, and they can move and bunch, which creates very visible bumps on your chest (classy!).

So what’s a nursing mom to do?  Get Bamboobies!

Bamboobies Nursing Pads

Bamboobies have revolutionized the nursing pad industry.  Their nursing pads are the thinnest I’ve ever seen.  Because of their unique shape and thin size, Bamboobies will not make that super noticeable nursing pad circle.

Super Thin Bamboobies Pad

The Bamboobies pad on the left, is so much thinner than the other pad I was using!

The outside layer is made of a leak proof material, that will keep your shirt spot-free (because nothing is as embarrassing as that tell-tale leak).  The middle layer is ultra-absorbent and made with organic cotton and hemp.  The layer next to your skin, is made with an organic bamboo velour.  The bamboo velour may be the softest thing I have ever felt (except baby skin).  Unlike other nursing pads, Bamboobies stitching is not on the edge of the pad, this helps the pad lie more flat against you and prevents the pad from moving and bunching.

Bamboobies pads are a distinctive heart shape.  Their pads weren’t designed that way just to be cute. The creator of Bamboobies understands that each women is shaped a little differently, and a generic circular pad doesn’t work for everyone. Bamboobies are designed to be worn right side up or upside down, which ever way fits your curves the best.

Original Bamboobies

I was a little skeptical at first that this super thin little pad could stop leaks, just as effectively as the thicker pads.  So, I used an eyedropper to test them out.  Sure enough, the Bamboobies were just as effective at stopping leaks, as the thicker pad.

Bamboobies also has overnight pads, made with an extra thick absorbent layer.

Even with the extra absorbent layer, Bamboobies overnight pads are still thinner than the other nursing pads I was using.  At night, I used to use folded washcloths, because my nursing pads would leak all over the place, and I’d wake up in a puddle.  The washcloths were not nearly as soft as Bamboobies, nor were they as absorbent.  Besides, keeping a washcloth in place all night, was nearly impossible!  I can get rid of the folded washcloths, because overnight Bamboobies pads will stay in place and keep my bed puddle free.

Overnight Bamboobies

Bamboobies doesn’t just have nursing pads, they also have the Bamboobies Brahhh that is designed especially for nursing mothers.

Bamboobies Brahhh

It is made of organic cotton, spandex, and bamboo rayon.  It is extremely comfy and would be an excellent sleep bra.  The Brahhh’s straps are slightly tapered to prevent slippage. Also, it doesn’t have those annoying clasps, that most nursing bras have.  The Brahhh is designed to simply be pulled down, for easy nursing.

Bamboobies Nursing Brahhh

I don’t normally wear my bra over my shirt, but I’ve got a big prego belly so….

It even has a beautiful flower design.  Every mommy knows, it’s nice to have something that makes you feel pretty and special, right after having a baby.

I am incredibly impressed with the Bamboobies nursing pads and Brahhh.  Their nursing pads are cute, absorbent, and discreet.  The Brahhh is an excellent nursing bra, that was made to be both functional and beautiful.

Right now, I have a special discount code, exclusively for I Love My Kids readers.  If you enter the code ILMK20 at checkout, you will receive a 20% discount on all Bamboobies items, at www.buybamboobies.com.

i would probably get the the nursing pad and nipple balm.I tandem nurse my two boys and nursing pads can get expensive so anything reusable sound wonderful. And nursing two all day often makes my nipples sore and dry, so the balm sounds lovely. Hope it smells great too

I love Bamboobies, wish I’d discovered them for my firstborn, now have 6 week old & Bamboobies are helping with nursing. I would choose the nursing shawl, it’s on my wish list

I love that they use velour. That just sounds super soft, especially when nipples get super sore.
