Spooky Halloween Ideas: Treats, Decor and more!

Halloween is just around the corner…where did my year of 2013 go?! The older I get the faster life FLIES by. Maybe it’s just me, but it sure does go by fast. Halloween will be here before we know it. While we are on the subject of Halloween let’s talk about it!
Halloween is a great time of year. The kids love getting loads of candy from all the houses. Some parents are a little unsure about going to random houses. I was lucky when I was younger, I grew up in a small quiet town in Montana with about a population of 4,000. My parents never had to worry about too much because it was a small town and we knew almost everyone, especially in our neighborhood. Once I started getting older, I could go with my friends and we knew all the perfect houses to hit. Ya know, the ones that gave soda, king size candy bars (this was a house a dentist lived in, I think he knew what he was doing when he gave out king sized candy bars! 😉 ), sunflower seeds, and everything else besides the miniature candy bars. We hit up every single house from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. (We were pretty serious, if you can’t tell!)  We always had a great time and after we were done, we’d go to a friends house and end the night with hot chocolate and bobbing for apples. It was the life.
This year will be my first time back at trick or treating. (Not really for me, but I have to help out) My daughter will be 16 months old and we are going to take her trick or treating for her very first time. I am so happy that our church gets together for a Halloween party and we do a Trunk or Treat. Which is where tons of cars get in the church parking lot and open the trunks and the kids go car to car saying trunk or treat. It’s just like trick or treating, but better and faster! This is what we plan to do instead of trick or treating. We may go to a few houses on Halloween (like grandma’s) but my daughter is small enough that if she even gets one piece of candy she’ll be satisfied!
My husband and I are going to have our very first Halloween party this year. We plan on going trick or treating with the kids and then getting together at our place for lots of fun Halloween games and treats. I will write about our party once it’s finished and let you in on all the details and show LOTS of pictures.  A lot of my ideas actually come from these great ideas down below. If you’re planning a Halloween party like me, you should check out some of these great treats, decor, and more Halloween ideas.
