Puppy Surprise by Just Play

When I was six, I was invited to my best friend’s birthday party.  I played funny games, popped sparkly balloons that were filled with candy, and got to try ice cream cake for the first time.  It was, possibly, the most magical day of my six year old life.  During that magical birthday party, my best friend got a Puppy Surprise.  Puppy Surprise is a plush mother dog with several puppies inside of a pouch in her tummy.

The mother dog has a cute plastic face; a plush, cuddly body; pink fuzzy ears; and is full of little puppies to love.  I wanted a Puppy Surprise of my very own.

Puppy Surprise Popcorn

I was so excited to see Just Play’s display of Puppy Surprise at The New York Toy Fair.  Puppy Surprise was just like I remembered it.  Each Puppy Surprise comes in a cute little box that looks like a carrying case.  There are three different puppy surprise mothers: Popcorn, Zoey, and Sugar.  Our dog is named Popcorn.

Each Puppy Surprise mother comes with three, four, or five puppies.  Popcorn had five puppies!

Popcorn and Puppies

Each puppy had a unique face or markings. My children excitedly discussed which puppy was the cutest or the funniest or the sleepiest.  One puppy was even a little runt.  The little runt puppy was named Teensy, and has been loving tucked into my daughter’s bed each night because she doesn’t want it to be afraid of the dark.

Puppy Surprise play

Puppy Surprise dogs have long fur on their ears and tails that is perfect for brushing and styling.  Both my daughter and my son have enjoyed playing with Popcorn and her puppies.  I am always looking for toys that promote creativity and imaginative play, and Puppy Surprise is a great toy that encourages children to use their imaginations while they play.

Puppy Surprise is recommended for children ages 3+.  It is available at retailers nationwide and retails for $24.99
