top toy picks toy fair 2014

Few days ago the Jacob Javits Center in New York City has hosted the International Toy Fair, the worlds largest gathering of toys and games, organized by the Toy Industry Association.  Hundreds of toy manufacturers gather to show off their recent and upcoming products to retailers, buyers, and the press. The New York Toy Fair is filled with nearly every toy, game, form of electronic entertainment, and outdoor play thing you can imagine. First off let me just say if I brought my kids to this event they probably would have kicked us out from all the carrying on that would have occurred.  So it is good kids were not allowed. The event was like going to toy heaven for toy lovers.  Let me share some of the vendors with you and I think you will get the point.  Disney was there as well as Crayola, Hex Bug, Mattel, Mega Bloks, Lego, Razor, Spinmaster, TOMY, Vtech, ToysRus (sorry can’t do the backwards R), Madame Alexander, Yvolution, Just Play, Activision, and hundreds more.  It was like the who’s who of toys and fun for children of all ages.

Here are my top picks from the toy fair. I made my picks based on my kids ages 7 and 11 year old. I don’t necessarily want all these toys for my kids but thought they are pretty cool to check out for parents and some of them will be most wanted for Christmas this year. I will make a separate post covering the new Baby and Toddler toys for 2014.

In addition to Zoomer dog this is a new Zoomer Dino, interactive dinosaur from SpinMaster

And wait I didn’t even mention the Grumpy Cat was at the toy fair too.  Grumpy Cat, her real name is Tardar Sauce, she is a cat and Internet celebrity known for her grumpy facial expression. At the toy fair she was chilled, relaxed and mostly sleeping. The Grumpy cat now has lots of toys and merchandise available for sale from Ganz.com
