Watch your child grow from 3 months to 3 years with the Inglesina Zuma highchair

06/04/2013 By Irina 298 Comments

So….you already know what I am going to write about, right? A highchair. But, this is no ordinary highchair. This is the Inglesina Zuma highchair. Have you ever heard of Inglesina? I had never heard of it before either, until I was on a desperate search to find a new highchair for my daughter. And I ran across their site, and knew this is what I needed my daughter to have. It is a company full of baby products, but it has a history behind the company and it shares it’s success story directly on their site. I think it is awesome that it lets everyone know the history of the company.

Okay, back to the Zuma highchair. What makes this highchair extra ordinary special, you may ask? Well keep on reading and learn about this nifty highchair.

Inglesina high chair instructions
To start off I just want to thank the Inglesina company for giving an instruction manual with PICTURES! Seriously, this helped me tremendously. I am the type of gal who loves pictures. And step by step pictures are even better. I couldn’t believe that I was excited to look at an instruction manual. That is my first kudos to the company. But there is more! 🙂

DSCN3786

When I took it out of the box it was all together. The highchair has adjustable positions that go up and down, and it was in the shortest position. (I will tell you about this later.) The only thing that I had to do was put the tray on (super easy), and put the orange cover on (a bit more tricky, but if you have your picture manual, you should be fine!).
Image9
The tray comes in 2 pieces. The top piece snaps on and off making it easy for cleaning up. It snaps in really well, so the chances of a child being able to take the top tray is very slim. The (whole, not top) tray is very easy to take on and off and it is fairly light weight. It isn’t too large in size either. When you take it off, it can easily fit on a counter top.

DSCN3790

Here is the orange cover that it came with. There are many more color options on their site, here. I loved how it can velcro very easily. As I said earlier if you look at the picture manual, it should be easy to put the cover on.
DSCN3794
The high chair can move up and down just by the press of 2 buttons on the side. I love this feature. It can go down very low so a toddler can crawl into the seat by themselves. It even makes it easier for them because of the foot rest they have. That foot rest gives them an extra boost to get up on their own. My daughter loves that it can go so low, she even tries to climb into the highchair! My daughter is 26 inches and she could touch the tray at the lowest drop down position. Because it can go so low, it can easily be put under a table or under an open counter top. This makes it for easily storage.
DSCN3800

She LOVES it! She couldn’t believe it could go down to her size!
DSCN3797
Here is the highest it can go. My daughter’s head can now only reach the foot step. I love that it can go so high and so low. You can adjust it to the right height and slide it toward the table, so your child can eat the the table as well with everyone.
DSCN3812
My daughter can now join us for dinner! We are loving her sweet company, thanks to Inglesina!
Fotor0602223921
The Zuma highchair can be folded up very easily and has step by step numbers to show when to do what the number tells us to. It is VERY easy to fold, by far the easiest high chair to fold up that I have ever seen.
All you need to do is start off by tipping the highchair forward (1),  then pull down (2) and push (3) with your foot at the same time. And you have it folding up. It can also stand by itself! I love that part of the chair as well.
Fotor0602224216
On the back of the highchair it has a lever (picture above). If you push this, it will let you move the chair to 3 different positions. This is perfect if you have a 3-6 month old. It can be a sleeper for you baby while you cook in the kitchen. (If you have a cranky baby who just wanted to look at you all day like my daughter!) All you have to do it recline the highchair back. I wish I would have had this when she was that age. She fell asleep in her highchair so much and I had wished I could of reclined the chair when she fell asleep.
DSCN3907
In the picture above I reclined the chair for her when she fell asleep. I was glad I had this highchair when she fell asleep this time. She was a little iffy and stirred when I reclined it, but she liked it once she realized it was comfortable.
DSCN3890
Some people have complained that there is a large space in between the baby and the tray. From my own perspective I would say that they are semi-right. There is a little bit of space in between baby and tray, but it did not seem any different from our old high chair. She dropped just as much food (actually even less) as the old high chair. So for me, the space didn’t bother me. I realized that kids will be kids and make a mess. That just what happens. 🙂
NOTE: I just found out from the company that they have actually fixed the space problem with a bigger tray, which my daughters highchair has. Therefore, there is no problem with the space in between the child and tray. Please disregard my words in the paragraph above! Thanks!
I will add one thing to this review of the highchair that I didn’t like as much. Firstly, I want to say that I love the idea of having wheels on the chair. It makes it much easier to move, but the easy moving is only when the child is not in the chair. Once I put my daughter in, it is much harder to move the high chair. I would suggest to put the kind of wheels that they us on the office chairs with the rollie wheels. (I don’t know the proper name of those wheels!) If they had those wheel I think it would be easier so you can move side to side and back and forth easy. The wheels on this one just make it easy to move back and forth. That was my one and only concern with this highchair! I liked everything else about it!
DSCN3801
She was totally posing for the camera here!
You can buy the Inglesina Zuma highchair directly from their site. It values for $279.00. This is a pricey product, but to have a safe and reliable product, you have to pay the price. And this is a definite product to have in your home!

Yayyyyy, GREAT TIMING! Just found out yesterday that I have a ‘great nephew’ who is due to arrive into this world in mid October. 🙂 What a GREAT baby gift this would be for both mommy and the little guy. I really wish there was an amazing high chair such as this when my children and grandchildren were younger. Based on all you wrote about this product, I think the superior quality and attributes definitely justify the price. I especially like the idea of the reclining seat. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one! 🙂

I really like that this chair foldes up to a compact state. Not only is this great for our house but also great for when we need to take a chair to my sister-in-laws. However, to maintain balance there is a leg on the floor that extends far back enough that some of the tiny people in our house might trip over if the chair is pushed up to the dining table instead of up against a wall. Thanks for the opportunity.

I love this high chair! I love how it can go low and go up high to sit at a table. My son is 20 months old and I am also expecting. So it would be great to have a chair he could climb into so I don’t have to lift him. He is a heavy boy, especially for this pregnant mommy! It would be great to use for my son until number two is able to use it. I love that it can rest back. We are currently borrowing a plain high chair. This would be perfect!!! Thank you for the great giveaway!!!

Love how high and lw it goes, as you said, once a child gets older, the fact that it goes so low would be great for a childs budding independence as it’s let’s the child get in the chair which is really cool. I’d love to win this high chair as it looks and sounds like a really great one and would be extremely useful to have for my kids. I also like the nice fashionable colors it comes in. The other boys are getting old enough that they don’t mind the bench but the youngest I am afraid is either going to fall, climb on the table etc. and you can guess it most of the time wont stay at the table to eat at all. I could use all the help I can get rebuilding, esp since we’re moving and I’m taking a job that’s half my current pay :/ I love that this chair is so versatile and will grow with your needs!!!!!!!!!!!
