Ever since I have been married, I have grown a love for baking and cooking new recipes for my friends and family. Once I found that there was a mini table top oven at Fagor America, I knew I had to have it! I thought, oh the endless things I could do with this tiny portable oven!
When I got this oven I was so excited! I read all of the awesome features it had, and was sold. You’re all so lucky because I get to tell you some of my favorite features with the Halogen Tabletop Oven. Oh by the way, isn’t this oven BEAUTIFUL!? Yes, I think so…just stare at it for a minute, and soak in it’s goodness.
The Halogen tabletop oven is my new favorite cooking tool. It’s fast and easy. It is small, but that’s because it’s a tabletop oven, so it should be small. This oven is an ENERGY SAVER. You can grill, broil, bake, steam, and even roast all in one tiny oven! This oven saves energy and cook 50% faster then regular ovens. I tried to figure out why it’s so fast. The reason being is that it is such a tiny space and the heat circulates very quickly and can’t escape anywhere.
A great feature the oven has is the handle on the lid. If the handle is up, it will automatically turn off. If it is down, it turns back on. (Look in picture below, notice the light is on, that is because the handle is down.)
The lid of the oven is the heaviest. The reason why is because this is where the heat comes from. It is just like a regular oven, with a heat source on top.
One thing I did notice on this part of the oven is that you had to turn both the timer and the temperature to turn the oven on. I am not quite sure why they do this, but there must be a reason? Maybe for safety reasons for children.
My favorite thing about the oven is the tongs that it came with. They are so perfect and I think they are meant to take out the grill trays without burning yourself. These tongs rock, and work well to take food out as well.
Okay you may ask what is so great about the photo above? Take a closer look, it fits in my tiny sink! I don’t know how many times I get frustrated when I have to wash the crock pot and it doesn’t fit in my sink too well because of the oval shape. Thank goodness to the Halogen oven for being ROUND! It has made my cleaning this oven very much enjoyable and easy!
THE TEST: PRE COOKED FROZEN CHICKEN
I had to try this oven out and see if it was all that and if it really cut the cooking time in half. My first victim was…pre cooked chicken nuggets and tator tots (DON’T LAUGH, it was for my daughter….and me).
The nuggets cooked very quickly they were frozen and usually in my regular oven they take about 20 minutes, and still a little here or there are cold in the center.
With my tabletop oven it took ten minutes. Now, this did make them not frozen and it was perfect for my daugther, but I like mine a bit more crispy So I put them in for another 6 minutes and they were perfect for my liking.
TEST #2: RAW CHICKEN
My next attempt was raw chicken. I decided to go with big fat chicken breasts to see what the cook time would be. So I went with my famous recipe, Garlic Lemon Stuffed Chicken (it is DIVINE!) yway
Anyway, normally big chicken breast take a long time in a regular oven, up to 45 minutes. I cooked two chicken breast in a 8×10 pan and put it in the oven. My two raw chicken breasts were completely cooked through in 25 minutes! Oh the joy of this wonderful oven!
I can’t wait to try so many other things in my oven. I am most excited to take this on trips with me! Everyone is going to be so jealous of my portable oven. I can bake cookies in a hotel room, or even roast a turkey! The possibilities are endless with this oven.

I love that it cooks in half the time. and you can put frozen food in it. My son is in the army and uses one. he doesn’t have an oven and the won’t allow a lot of cooking appliances so he tried this and they allowed it. He swears by it. I would love to have one to save on time.

omg – I was gifted with one of the big versions of this prize. It was super and we fixed some very healthy and quick versions of meat and veggies. short story my husband accidently bumped it – it fell off the kitchen island and the glass broke when it hit the floor. This oven sounds absolutely amazing. I want to win because I could really use this. The house I’m renting has no oven. And for some insane reason, it has no where to put one either. I has a gas cooktop but no oven. Its the first time ive ever seen somewhere that didnt have an oven and i didnt realize exactly how much i used an oven until ive had to do without one! But, the price is right and the location is just where I want/need it, so for now, I’m making due although It’s very frustrating to have to modify everything I’m cooking to either cook on the stove or in the microwave. And there are some things I just have to do without eating because there is no way to cook them….no cookies, no baked food, no fresh bread, etc…. This little oven would make life so much easier and better while renting this house and allow me to cook all my favorite things. Also, as you mentioned, it could be taken to hotels also which would be really cool as well. I’d get tons of use out of this nice little oven! I would love to win this since it would be a fun way to cry cooking healthier foods using something different-it looks like the food would taste delicious and not be dried out, but still be healthy, which is great. Plus it is a small size and portable, which makes cooking with it very easy!

I like that your lemon garlic stuffed chicken breasts cooked in 25 minutes! Plus I no longer use my square glass pans in my oven after having one shatter in the oven but you were able to put one in here.

I like your idea of taking this when you travel! We are retired and travel a few times a year…up to a month at a time at least once a year. We usually stay in condos…and they have cooking equipment but this would be easier and less time consuming. I mean, who wants to spend a lot of time cooking when you are traveling and exploring new areas. I think I would use this a lot at home too for easy quick meals.

What I like about the table top oven is the cooking time and convenience. Working 10-12 hour days, slaving in the kitchen is something I dont look forward to. I have two little boys who I want to eat healthy and there are days where that’s not the case.

I received an older version of this oven as a housewarming gift almost 14 years ago. I used it for everything from hot dogs to turkey breasts. After work I need to get dinner done quickly or we resort to fast food. This little oven makes fast, healthy, home cooked meals a reality. My range oven sat unused except for big holiday dinners. My little oven worked great until it died last year. I miss it and would love to win a Halogen Tabletop Oven to replace it.

I have not heard of this type of oven before. Am always pressed for time or too tired to cook a good meal.
I would use this the most, it would really come in handy.

If I won this tabletop oven I would give it to my son to use at college. He has an apartment on campus so he can cook in there. His oven at school doesn’t really work right. Good for warming stuff but that’s just about the end of it. LOL Besides, I like giving stuff to my son!

I would love to win this because of cooking healthier foods quickly. Time is a precious item in my busy household. It also will be less heat in the summertime kitchen.

I have been wanting to try one of these. I LOVE to bake but now that I live in Florida I hate heating up the entire house. Its hot enough without baking. This would be perfect.

I like that it wouldnt heat your whole kitchen up when it is a hot summerr evening and also that it takes half the time.
I like that it is small and that I won’t have to heat up the entire oven just to fix my daughter and I lunch when we are home alone during the day 🙂 I will be able to save power and time

I currently use my oven to store pots.. I hate to take them out to use it. I want this so that I can have a quick oven with out sacrificing my pot storage.. 🙂

I would love this and use it alot as my oven is old and doesn’t cook evenly….it overheats my tiny kitchen and I love the idea of this being a space saving item. Would love it!!!
I had one and loved it then moved in with my son and he threw it away. I really need one when I move out this next month

Hi =) I used to have one but when I moved this last time I lost it =( It comes in handy all the time!
You can put frozen food in it and it still cooks inside out. Take away a lot of the unhealthy grease that you normally would fry with.
On those nights i have to work this would make making dinner so much easier and faster! Thanks for the chance to win!
