Pink Zebra Simmer Pot and Sprinkles Review

05/22/2012 By Irina Leave a Comment

Having a good smelling home is very important to me.  Especially after cooking with onions and garlic.  I could never seem to get rid of the smell even after using the kitchen vent fans and opening some windows.  I usually burn some candles to freshen up the house but with young kids around safety comes first. Burning incense sticks or cones presents the same safety issues and they can get to smoky.  As far as sprays go I don’t like putting harmful chemicals into the air. In looking for solutions I was happy to be contacted by Sherri Burnett who is an independent consultant and works for a company called Pink Zebra.
What is Pink Zebra?
Pink Zebra is a company that developed a way to make your home smell amazing! It is Direct sales company that specializes in candles and fragrances.
They told me about their flameless home fragrance products that are soy based and come in amazing 40 scents.  I thought great sounds like a win win situation.  No flames so my safety concerns are relieved.  And they are soy based so no chemicals.  They sent me over one of their fancy simmering pots and blue sprinkles in a jar called “Stone Washed Denim” to review. My Pink Zebra items came gift boxed in pink zebra animal print. I really loved the packaging.
This is basically a ceramic base and a ceramic pot that sits on top.  The ceramic base plugs into an outlet and heats up the ceramic pot that holds soy wax scented pellets (sprinkles).
I put a couple of teaspoons of the Stone Washed denim sprinkles in the pot, put it on the base and turned it on.  After a while a strong overpowering odor permeated throughout my kitchen.    I immediately shut it down and took washed out the pot of the melted pellets.  A couple of days later I tried it again but this time using a much smaller amount of pellets.  The results were the same.  A strong overpowering chemical scent filled up the kitchen.

I decided to check out their website and they claim that their products are soy based.   Then I started thinking maybe the sprinkles are made from soy but what about the stuff that provides the scent?  There was no information as to the quality or source of the fragrances.

Overall I was impressed with the simmering pot and it’s design but not impressed with the overpowering chemical scent from the soy wax pellets. The scent i was reviewing called Stone Washed Denim.

As I mentioned before Pink Zebra Sprinkled fragrances come in 40 different scents. I will be purchasing their Fresh Raspberry scent in the near future and looking forward testing it out. I will let you know my experience in the next post.

Disclaimer: The Simmer pot and the Stone Washed denim Sprinkles were provided to us by Pink Zebra for free in order to test out the product.  The views expressed in this review are mine and mine alone.
