About a month ago I posted about The Toddler Time Readiness Kit from Learning Resources. It is something we still use quite a bit and something my son still loves. Since my son loved it so much I thought it would be a good idea to get one for my daughter. Since she is two years older than him the one we got for him wasn’t challenging enough for her. Instead we got her the All Ready for Kindergarten Readiness Kit. I like this readiness kit even more than I like the preschool kit. Although each kit is perfect for the ages they are made for, it is just a different type of learning that goes along with this kit.
*I received the following product in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is what the kit looks like when you first get it.
In the review of the preschool readiness kit it does not include a picture of the box that it comes in. I wanted to include it with this review to show the extra bonus that this brings. Everything easily fits back into the box allowing for the contents to be easily stored. Then when your child wants to use it again all they have to do is grab the box. It has been such a lifesaver being able to have a specific spot to put all of the contents for our readiness kits. Makes for an organized home and makes it harder to loose pieces when there is a spot for them to go.
What is included in the Kindergarten Readiness Kit?
- 60 Shape Pieces
- 52 Letters (lower case set and an upper case set) that each comes with a lace
- 34 Picture Cards
- 20 Puzzle Cards
- 20 Critter Counters
- 1 Gator Grabber
- 1 Write and Wipe Board
- 1 Die
- Parent Guide
- Write and Wipe Activity Book and Dry Erase Marker
- Storage Box
There is so much to teach and learn with this readiness kit!
This kit helps with fine motor skills, letter recognition (both for knowing the letter’s name and sound), and much more! My daughter’s favorite thing to do with this kit is to use the activity book. One of the activities that is her favorite is the page that is for tracing the letters of the alphabet. Since starting preschool this year writing has become one of her favorite things to do. This book has helped grow that love even more and helped her better be able to recognize each letter quicker.
Another favorites of the available learning activities is the alligator grabber and the numbers with the lace. This is an activity that both my daughter and my son enjoy together. They have a fun time picking up the letters with the grabber and then getting it on the lace. They then of course have me tie it into a necklace. It is fun being able to watch my kids learn and grow together.
We, my husband and I, highly recommend this product to any parents who have children who are approaching their kindergarten year of school. It is a great way to see what your child already knows and what things they will need help in learning more of before or during their year in kindergarten!
