DIY Play Snow
It just started to get really warm here, and my 3 year old daughter has already asked me when it’s going to SNOW again.
Yup, I said snow.
She could be asking about swimming or playing at the park, and she is asking about snow.
I had to crush her little heart and tell her that snow wasn’t going to come any time soon. (At least I hope not!)
After I crushed her heart, I decided to be Super Mommy and find a recipe for your own DIY play snow.
Super Mommy came to the rescue thanks to this play snow recipe from Two Sister’s Crafting.
This snow is soft and almost has a cold touch to it. Our snow looked more like sand to me. But my daughter kept calling it snow, so it passed as snow to us.
It is super simple to make and only takes 2 minutes.
How to make DIY Play Snow:
First, you’ll need to grab the ingredients:
– (2) 16 oz. boxes of corn starch
– (1) can of shaving cream
– Glitter (optional, but always more fun!)
All it takes is 4 easy steps!
STEP 1-
Pour in the 2 boxes of cornstarch into a container. This is a great step for the kids to do!
STEP 2-
Squirt the shaving cream in. I did a little more than half then mixed. Then I added more until it felt right.
STEP 3-
Mix the cornstarch and shaving cream until it is a soft, non sticky, mold-able dough. This should not be sticky, but almost like sand.
STEP 4-
Add your glitter and play with your semi-cold play snow. My daughter played with this for hours! We did this outside in a swimming pool so if she split the play snow out of the container it wouldn’t make a mess on the ground outside.
We also got all of her toys and she had a blast playing with them in the play snow.
