It’s here a tutorial on how to make a Moana wig! Here is a DIY tutorial that anyone can do….even me! My little blondie wanted to be Moana this year for Halloween. We knew a wig was in order. It took me about an hour and cost me about $6 to make! Plus it was super fun to do! I’ve made a video tutorial below so you can check it out and make your own!
Using what I had on hand, I created this homemade yarn Moana wig. It wasn’t very tricky and it turned out great! I started with a knit beanie because I couldn’t find a crocheted one, 2 skeens of yarn, 1 stretchy baby headband, and a plastic knitting needle. Using a black and brown color of yarn to define the hair a little bit more. I saw that idea on The Magic Yarn Project’s tutorial that they had posted. I didn’t have any of the supplies they showed in the video, so I needed to come up with a DIY version of this wig!
How to make the Moana wig:
I don’t have a whole lotta skills, but I can wield a hot glue gun with extreme precision. Kidding. Well a little! This wig has a little bit of knot tying and a little bit of hot gluing and a whole lot of awesome!
It is really easy to hide any imperfections with the help of a flower crown!
