Pinblocks, have you heard of them yet? They are the latest and the greatest new building toy. They are stack-able like Legos, but each have a beveled edge making them flexible like nothing I’ve ever seen before! Your creations can really soar to new heights with the flexible pinblocks! What exactly are pinblocks? Let me show you!

pinblock blocksA pinblock is small with 2 points sticking up. It can be inserted into another pinblock straight together by connected the two pieces together:

pinblock fusion jetThis set came with a thick instruction manual that included step by step instructions on how to create the two “suggested” projects.

This instruction manual, literally explained block by block via pictures on how to create these awesome jets! They were really easy to follow and it was fun to see the different parts unfold as we added things! Here I am on step 7 of the right wing. This is definitely a time toy…it won’t get tossed to the side after 10 minutes of playing. It takes some concentration and I think even an older kid would love to have this set! It is recommended for ages 7+.

The coolest feature about the pinblocks is that they are flexible. This means you can WEAR these blocks as well as create castles towers, figurines, gates, and more!

Pinblock can curveI made myself a bracelet! The pinblocks come in a black plastic holder that slides in and out of the box easily. You can see that in the picture below and my fancy bracelet. 😉

Pinblock braceletI watched an advertisement for these and laughed at the part where they did a “step test”. One person stepped on small Legos, the other stepped on Pinblocks. So I gave my own feet a “step test” by tossing a handful onto the floor….

Pinblock onthe floor….then stepped on them!

pinblock stepping onThere is no comparison, you’ve stepped on a Lego, right? I had very little discomfort with these pinblocks! HOORAY! That is what I call a parenting win! I really like that these blocks can angle and bend and they don’t have to build just straight up or to the side! It allows for so much creativity!

pinblock togetherMy overall impressions are that these might be the next best thing when it comes to building toys. They don’t hurt when you step on them, they are easy to use, they can move, bend, and shape into amazing things, and they are just plain fun! This is going to make an awesome gift for my 9 year old who love toys that challenge her! This set has 900 pieces and has a suggested retail of $44-$49. I saw them on Zulily for just $22-but that sale ends in 2 days-so HURRY!  They also carry a “freestyle” kit that has 1,000 pieces and more color options!
