A toy Pet that Rivals the Real Thing – Little Live Pets ‘Lil Mouse

10/16/2015 By Ashley 6 Comments

In our house, so far, our rule has been no pets. Why is this a rule? Well because pets shed, pets soil the carpet, they are expensive, and they pretty much are a lot of work and I already have my two kids to watch over, I am not ready to also take responsibility of a pet. This rule is very unfortunate for my daughter though because she loves animals. We recently went to visit my in laws and they have chickens, kittens, horses, a dog and a peacock and she was in animal heaven and it was hard having to take her away and back to our petless home after seeing the joy in her eyes when she was surrounded by animals and that is why I cannot wait until Christmas when I will be giving her a pet! Yep that is right she will be getting a pet but what is even better than that is that I will not have to take care of it at all. It does not need to be taken on walks, picked up after or even fed because it is a toy pet.

I know what you are thinking, “but Ashley a toy is not a pet”. I was thinking the same thing until I got this awesome toy pet in the mail! Check it out and see what I mean.

'Lil Mouse

This is the ‘Lil Mouse from Little Live Pets.

The ‘Lil Mouse from Little Live pets is my new favorite toy that I have ever seen. At first I didn’t have very big expectations of it but as soon as I turned the mouse on and it’s little wheels started turning I knew this toy was going to be one of the highlights of my daughter’s holiday season.

'Lil Mice

I mean just look at these mice, they are so stinking cute!

With their big ears and their different colors and spots. I just cannot get enough of these cute little things and I don’t even like real mice but these ‘Lil Mice are adorable.

I also love how the on and off switch doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb on the mouse but instead is hidden, it is located just under the mouth. I had to read the instruction manual to find where it was located.

My favorite feature of these mice are how quick they are. They move around just like how real mice move, quickly and all over the place! I could watch these mice move around all day but what makes these toy pets even cooler is that they come with accessories that real pet mice can come with too!

'Lil Mice in the House

This is the ‘Lil Mouse House from Little Live Pets.

This product comes with a ‘Lil mouse, mine came with the pink mouse whos name is Blossom (even their names are cute). The mice actually will run on the mouse wheel and will run through a swinging door that is located between the house and the area outside the house. The cutest feature of the mouse house though is the air holes! I mean what is cuter than a toy that looks like it is made for the real thing but is actually made for a toy?

'Lil Mouse House Trail

This is the ‘Lil Mouse Play Trail from Little Live Pets.

This toy was great especially with two mice because there was a lot more room for them to move around and it was funny to watch them chase each other.

One thing I didn’t like about this particular product was the way they chose to raise one of the platforms. They have a small cylinder that is placed underneath but it was not very sturdy. It is nice that it is optional though, so I can always choose to leave this piece out of the trail.

To give you a better idea of how these mice move around and how the mice interact with each of the products shown above, I recorded a quick video which I will post below.

The Little Live Pets also has other pets available like butterflies, birds and turtles so check those out and let me know which pet you think your kids would like the most.

*I received samples of the products mentioned above for free to facilitate this post. All opinions are mine.

It’s a Zhu Zhu pet. Nothing compares to the love of a real live pet.

These things are way cooler than a zhu zhu pet =). We will eventually move our way up to a real pet but for now these cute little guys are a lot of fun.

Did the door not come with it? I know that the door on our mouse house is pretty easy to take off and put back on, that way if you want the mouse to be able to leave the house or go back in it is easier without the door. Maybe your granddaughter took it off and dropped it somewhere? If not I would contact Little Live Pets directly through their website and see if there is anything that they can do to help.
