If you are looking for a fast and easy one pot pasta meal to make for your busy schedule you’ve come to the right place! This fast 20 minute dinner is easy to make on a busy night. With it being Back to School time I know my schedule is full and this meal can be put together in a jiffy! I love one pot pasta dinners!

Ingredients:

Box/bag of Bowtie pasta
Can of diced tomatoes (any flavor)
4 cups chicken broth
Dried basil and oregano (to taste)
Sausage crumbles (I used Jimmy Dean Sausage crumbles for this recipe–because they are already cooked-super nice-but you can cook up any sausage for this recipe)

Bowtie sausage pasta

In a large pot combine pasta, can of tomatoes, sausage, basil and oregano (if you can get fresh spices–that makes this recipe even better!)

(NOTE: You can use any type of canned tomatoes for this dish. The tomatoes is what gives your pasta the flavor. I chose to use garlic tomatoes…YUM!)

Add 4 cups of chicken broth.

Cover and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to medium and cook it until the sauce thickens and is barely covering the pasta. You can leave the stove on High to speed up the cook time, but you may need to add more broth so the pasta won’t dry out. The sauce should cook down more than the picture below.

Top with cheese. That is it. I made this up one night when I only had 20 minutes before I was supposed to leave for Girls Night Out with my buddies. It was done and I still had time to put my make up on. 😉

that looks delicious! We use the Jimmy Dean Crumbles a lot…. we even substitute for hamburger in some recipes to give it a little something different
