5 Cute Facebook Gender Announcements

I am so excited! The other day my husband and I went to the OBGYN and part of the appointment was the 20 week ultrasound and during that ultrasound we found out the gender of our second child!

Before we told anyone on Facebook I wanted to think of a cute way to do it.

5 Cute Facebook Gender Announcements

If you have not seen my pregnancy announcement it is on the 10 Cute Pregnancy Announcements Ideas for Facebook. There are so many great ideas out there and with the help of Pintrest I was able to find the perfect one, it goes really well with my pregnancy announcement that I used.

I really love how mine turned out and I wanted to share 4 of my other favorite ideas for gender announcements to help anyone who might be looking for their own idea!

1. Balloon Shoes

balloons

This is my gender announcement! I love it and think it’s adorable. Also yes we found out we are having a boy! I am a little nervous because I am very girly but I know that I will love him so much and he will surely teach me a lot.

How I made this gender announcement was pretty simple, the hard part was actually finding a place where I could get plain balloons that were blown up or could be blown up at the store, I didn’t want to buy a whole tank of helium just for four balloons.

After you find the balloons, we got ours from Krogers, you will need to pick out one pair of shoes for each person. The strategy I used for placing the balloons was different for each shoe. For my husbands I wadded up the string until the balloon was at a desired height and then hid the excess string under his shoes, they were heavy enough to keep it down.

For my heels I found the length of string I needed, tied the string to the heel and then cut off the extra string so it would not show up in the picture.

For my daughter’s shoes I used the same process as with my husbands and with my son’s shoes I stuffed the string inside the shoe. Super simple. Then after taking the picture I edited a little bit in picmonkey to fix some lighting issues. I am glad I went with this option!

2. Brother Sign

Kenzies Print

This gender announcement idea is from our very own talented Mackenzie. Sometime during the past year and a half she started working miracles on her computer to make adorable signs for all occasions.

This was the sign she made for me, in only one night too, and I love it. We tried to use it for the gender announcement but my daughter is too much of a wiggle worm so none of the pictures turned out the way I wanted.

This gender announcement idea would be perfect for a child who is not so wiggly. Just print it out from your computer at home or make it fancy and send an order for it to be printed at Walmart! To get this sign for your own head over to Mackenzie’s Etsy page, Kenzie’s Prints.

3. Lollipop

I love pictures that are edited where everything is black and white and only parts of the picture have color and that is probably why I love this cute idea for a gender announcement. Also this little guy’s expressions are priceless. This is also an easy way to get any older siblings involved in this fun process because it is important to let the older siblings know that you will still love them just as much and probably more after the new baby comes!

4. Bubblegum

This gender announcement is one I saw recently and was one I was thinking about doing not for Facebook but for skyping my family. The way this couple set it up as a Facebook gender announcement is super cute. Another way that this can be done is by having both people blow a bubble and the person who has the right color for the gender smashes the other person’s bubble, that is how I would have done it if I had done this for Skype.

5. Handprint

Handprint

Last but not least is another black and white with a bit of color. The first time I saw this idea was when my friend Kelsey was pregnant with her fourth. To surprise her kids with the gender she blindfolded them all and dipped their hands in paint and then placed it on her white shirt that she was wearing. After each kid was done they took their blind folds off so they could be surprised! I love handprint crafts, like this cute one I made for my hubby for Father’s Day. It is such a cute way to watch your kids grow and what a cute way to get the siblings involved with the gender announcement!

These of course are only a few of very many ideas for gender announcements. Have you announced the gender of your baby recently? How did you do it? Let us know in the comments below!
