One of the jobs we have as parents is teaching our children. This can be an overwhelming task especially if our child isn’t being receptive. One of the things my toddler has been struggling with is colors. But with the Toddler Time Readiness Kit from Learning Resources I now have a great way to teach him this knowledge.
*I received the following product in exchange for my honest opinion.
What is included in the readiness kit?
- Barn foam mat
- Number cards 1-10
- Letter cards
- Colored animals
- Colored pegs
- Sorting mat
- Corral
This is both sides of the sorting mat.
There are so many different ways to learn with the readiness kit and a few of those ways can be used with the sorting mat. On one side of the mat are the numbers one through five. On the other side of the mat are five colored circles. This allows children to learn about soring in two different ways, with colors and numbers.
These are the number and letter cards.
Each number and letter card are two sided. One side of the letter cards is the letter both capital and lower case. On the other side is the letter again with a picture of something that starts with that letter. On one side of the number cards has the number and the other side has a picture that shows up as many times as the number.
With these cards you can easily introduce numbers and letters to your young child. The pictures help bring it to a level they will understand the concept and the colors bring in another fun dimension.
These are my son’s favorite part of the readiness kit.
The top picture is of the foam barn and the pegs. This is actually a picture I found on my phone that my daughter had taken. It is fun to see that my kids can have fun with this kit even when I am not able to sit down with them. The pegs are great for motor development with building and is good for teaching shapes.
The animals and corral was the other part of the kit my kids loved. With the animals your kids can sort by colors or by animal. This is a great way to introduce animal names and sounds as well. It is also a great part of the kit that your child can participate in imaginative play.
One more great thing about this readiness kit is that it comes in a box that velcros shut. This makes it really easy to keep it all stored together.
There are so many different things that toddlers can learn with this kit. Which would be your child’s favorite way to learn with this kit? Let us know in the comments!
