Sophi Nail Polish From Piggy Paint {Review}

My daughter and I love to paint our nails. She even started sneaking into my bathroom this past week and grabbing one of her Piggy Paint nail polish bottles and putting on as much nail polish on her fingers as she can before I can catch her. I love being able to spend that time with her doing something we both love and having some one on one time, which has been rare after having her brother last December.

I love the Piggy Paint nail polish and how it is non-toxic and safe for my daughter and now they have a new brand of polish just for moms called Sophi.

I am glad I now have options of nail polish colors that are not made for kids but are geared towards moms. I also love how my nail polish is safe just like my daughters!

It is so great that Sophi is an eco-friendly nail polish.

Although I do sort of love the smell of nail polish I know it is full of chemicals that are bad for me to be inhaling. With Sophi I don’t have to inhale any of those chemicals and really Sophi doesn’t smell all that much, it has a tiny bit of a scent but nowhere near how strong of a scent normal nail polish has.

Another great thing about Sophi is that it has different products like their primer + Sealer, shine topcoat and their nail polish remover gel.

I love how these two products make my nails look so shiny and look like I have just come home from getting my nails done at the salon. Seriously though my nails were so shiny and soft after I finished applying all of coats on my nails and I loved how good they looked, I was proud of my nails for the first time in what felt like a long time.

I was surprised at how good my nails looked, not because I had any doubt about these products but because I had never been able to get my nails to look this way without having to pay $20+ for someone to do it for me at a nail salon. The only thing I was a little disappointed about was that they did start chipping after a few days but I am a mom and my nails take a beating from cleaning products, water from washing dishes and constant use of wipes, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Although they chipped sooner than I would have liked it is ok because the polish is so easy to apply and it dries so quickly, a lot faster than any other nail polish I have ever used.

When I was ready to repaint my finger nails I had to remove the nail polish that was still there from before and I did that by using the Sophi nail polish remover gel.

First of all this nail polish remover is eco-friendly. You probably didn’t think those two things were compatible but they totally are. The scent of the remover is nowhere near how overpowering normal nail polish remover is, I remember being able to smell the nail polish remover down the stairs from where it was being used when I was growing up.

I also love that this is a gel and not a liquid.

I can’t tell you how many times I have spilled or almost spilled the nail polish remover when I was growing up and I know if I had some now that I would be doomed with my two year old. With the Sophi nail polish remover even if I knocked it over it would not spill because it is a pump. It is so easy to plop a glob of gel onto your finger and start rubbing the polish away.

It did take longer to rub the polish off than if I had used a nail polish remover full of alcohol but I am willing to make that trade of putting a little more effort into removing my polish if I can have something that is safer for me, my daughter and the environment!
