My daughter is almost 2 and recently I have noticed that she is wanting to do more and more things that I do. She watches me all day and if I start to do something without her she immediately asks if she can help or if she can join in on what I am doing. Things she loves to do the most with me are emptying the dishwasher, doing our hair, laundry and now painting her nails whenever I paint my nails or even if she just sees that my nails are painted then she wants hers painted too. I was totally fine with her having her nails painted but I am glad that she only had them painted a couple times with chemical filled nail polish before I came across Piggy Paint nail polish.
Pictured above is the Color me Happy gift set from Piggy Paint.
The great thing about Piggy Paint is that it is non-toxic and even hypoallergenic so even your most sensitive kids will be able to use these fun colors on their nails. I love their saying on their website, “Natural as Mud”, because you really can’t get as natural as something out in nature!
As soon as we got this in the mail my daughter wanted to open it up right away as she always does when we get packages. So I cut open the box and inside was the colorful box you see above. Very cute. Then inside the box each nail polish bottle was wrapped in tissue paper to ensure that none broke open during transit. I unwrapped them all and lined them up and let my daughter choose one of the colors. I love how in this gift set there are so many different colors to choose from and even 3 shades of my favorite nail polish color, pink. She picked the blue one and she sat down while her dad painted her nails, he is such a good dad!
One thing we did encounter while doing her nails was that the brush had a few longer pieces sticking out so my husband had to snip them so he could make sure to be able to do the best paint job that he could. After noticing that on the blue nail polish brush I made sure to check all the brushes for all the colors to make sure this wasn’t something that was on all of them. After checking them all I only found one other brush with the same problem so it must just have been a fluke that those two were like that.
Besides that one thing my husband was able to paint her nails with no problem.
She was so happy to finally have her nails painted and it was such a great family bonding time. I really love how her nails turned out. The color was very bright and a lot prettier of a color I thought it would be for kids nail polish, so that shows that the people who work on putting the polishes together really care about what is inside the paint as well as how it will look on the nails it is painted on. I later painted one of the pink polishes onto my nails, the lighter one in the picture at the top, because I wanted to see how long the polish would last on an adult’s nails because it only lasted about 1-2 days on my toddler’s nails but I am sure that is because she picked most of it off. So I painted my nails about 2-3 days ago and unfortunately it did start chipping within the next day but I did only do one coat. I still have most of the paint on my nails and I know if I had done more than one coat that there would be even more paint on them.
I would recommend this nail polish for anyone wanting to buy some kid friendly polish for their kids. You won’t have to worry about them ingesting any harmful chemicals when putting their fingers in their mouths and it is even safe for pregnant moms so it would be a great way to spend some mommy and daughter time together before the new baby arrives. Also with the holidays coming up you have others to think about buying gifts for so what better gift than some fun nail polish?
