Strider Bike – for kids learning how to balance and have coordination on a bike

Christmas was so fun this year and my kids would agree, they got royally spoiled by all sets of grandparents and it helps too that both of their birthday’s are that same week so they get double the presents. One of the big gifts that my daughter got was a new bike with training wheels. It is awesome and it is a My Little Pony bike so that made it even more fun for her since she is obsessed with that show. Well she jumped on right away and her face showed fear almost immediately as she was on this new big bike that was wobbly! Well until she is brave enough to attempt this new skill of riding a wobbly bike I am glad that another one of her gifts this year was a Strider Bike.

Strider Bike

The Strider bike that my daughter got is the Classic Strider Bike.

This specific bike is recommended for children 18 months up to 3 years. For 4 to 5 years there is an XL bike seat that is available to make the bike more comfortable for older children, this was something else I received but I cannot find my picture.

One of the best features of this bike is how easy it is to put together.

When you get your Strider bike in the mail, along with being available for purchase online there are also many stores that sell them if you hate waiting for things to ship, it comes in three parts. The three parts is the body. the handles and the seat along with a few smaller parts to help keep things in place. There are only two steps to putting the bike together, attach the handles and attach the seat. It really is super easy, it probably took me about 5 minutes to put the whole bike together.

Riding a Strider

The first time my daughter got on her new Strider bike she loved how easy it was for her to move around on it.

One of the things I love the most about the Strider bikes is that my daughter doesn’t have to try and learn how to pedal, balance and steer at the same time. This will give her time to slowly learn how to balance on a bike and steer with the handles and her body before she moves up  her pedal bike.

One of my favorite quotes on the Strider website is, “Research shows that learning balance and coordination with exercise jump-starts a child’s growth and development during the important formative years of early childhood.”. As moms we are always trying to find new ways for our kids to have fun and to make sure that fun is good for their development at the same time and through research, Strider has found that their bikes do just that. It is also a great and fun way to get outside and enjoy some play and exercise together.

Stider Bike

She feels like such a big girl on her new Strider bike and I have so much fun watching her learn these new skills. This bike is even light enough that she is able to ride it around the house when it is too cold to ride it outside.

I highly recommend this bike to anyone who is looking to buy a bike for their young children, it is a great option and will be a lot of fun for you child.

Below is a short video showing the Strider Bike in action.

*I received samples of the products mentioned above for free to facilitate this post. All opinions are mine.
