Keeping your Little One Safe with NexFit Convertible Car Seat from Chicco

One of the most important parts of my job as a mother is to keep my children safe and that includes while in the car. That is why I was recently on the search for a new and safe car seat for my almost one year old, and because he was getting very close to growing out of his infant car seat. My son’s last car seat was a Chicco infant car seat and it was also used for his older sister when she was a baby and both times the car seat was in use I loved it, I knew it would keep my babies safe if anything unfortunate would have happened, which thankfully it didn’t, and it was a brand I knew I could trust and that is why I wanted to go with a Chicco for my son’s new car seat. So I looked through Chicco’s website and I came across the NextFit Convertible Car Seat and I knew it was the one for my son!

Chicco Nexfit

The NextFit Convertible Car Seat has so many great features.

I am going to go over my favorite features below! There really are so many great ones that I hope I can talk about most of them if not all.

Chicco Nexfit 9 Reclines

One of the best features of the NextFit Convertible Car Seat is the 9 reclines.

This feature is called ReclineSure. It makes it easier to install the car seat in different cars that have different seat sizes. Another great thing about this feature is that when your child is a newborn you can adjust the recline so that the baby is leaning back and will not have the risk of falling forward and suffocating and as your child gets older and their neck grows stronger it is so easy to push the lever for the recline and adjust the car seat to a better recline for their new age and abilities.

Something I do not show you in the video below is how easy changing the recline for this car seat is. The lever that is pushed is so easy to push in and then it is even easier to move the car seat from one recline level to the other.

Chicco Nextfit ReclineSure

The recline positions are shown on the side of the car seat.

Chicco Next Fit Gauge

My next favorite feature of the NextFit Convertible Car Seat is the dual level-indicators.

This makes it so easy for me to be able to see visually if my son’s carseat position is good for rear-facing, which he will be for the next year since it is now recommended for babies to be rear-facing up to 2 years, if not longer. All I have to do is install the car seat and then look at the indicator to see if the level is between the lines indicated for rear-facing.

I really love that these first two features let me know that my child will be safe on our car ride and I don’t have to worry about if I maybe incorrectly installed the car seat because now I have visual indicators that will let me know if there is something that I need to change.

Chicco Nextfit Adjuster

The headrest in the NextFit Convertible Car Seat is even a great feature.

The headrest has 6 positions for your growing child. This is great because this car seat is made for children up to 65 pounds! My son is only about 20 pounds now so I am so glad we have some room for him to grow.

Chicco NextFit Newborn

Included with the NextFit Convertible Car Seat is an infant insert.

This feature provides extra support for the tiny babies, those between 5-11 pounds (which by the way my son was probably below 11 pounds for a week, I have no idea what a tiny baby looks like)! This is a great feature to keep newborns extra safe while in the NextFit Convertible Car Seat because they don’t have enough weight yet to fit well enough under the belts so this insert is a great way to add some padding without it being in the way, like a big winter coat would be.

Chicco Nextfit Latch Compartment

Probably my favorite feature of the NextFit Convertible Car Seat is the latch storage!

Have you ever taken a car seat through the airport? I have and when I did the car seat I had did not have anywhere to put the latches so the whole time they were being pulled on the floor and it was super annoying and I was very concerned that they were going to break. Luckily they did never broke during any of our flights or walks through the airport but it was still very frustrating. So as soon as I saw that our new car seat had latch storage I was pumped! I almost wanted to go to an airport just to see how awesome it would be to not have to drag the latches around and then I remembered that going to the airport is not fun with two kids so I decided to wait and be excited about this for our trip next year for my brother in law’s wedding. Really though this feature is really great!

Chicco Nextfit Tether

The NextFit Convertible also has storage for the Tether.

So When I first saw the storage for the latches I was excited but I was even more excited to see the storage for the tether. This is actually a feature of car seats that I have never used so the tether has always just been a really annoying object that again was always pulled along on the floor of airports getting into everyone’s way. When I saw that this car seat had storage for the tether I was excited to learn that I would not have wrestle with it every time I moved my son’s car seat since it would now be permanently out of the way. (BTW if any of you use a tether in your car let me know in the comments so I can know if this is something I should start using.)

Chicco NextFit Manual Compartment

The NextFit Convertible Car Seat has one more brilliant storage compartment.

This last storage compartment is in the back of the car seat and on the bottom and it is made just to hold the car seat’s manual. I don’t know how many manuals I have come across during my three years of parenting but I do know how many I currently have, one. I know this because it is the manual for the NextFit Convertible car seat from Chicco because it has it’s very own spot. I will never loose this manual. This is a genius feature for the car seat!

Chicco Nexfit Cupholder

The NextFit Convertible Car Seat also comes with a cup holder.

This is not a feature that my son uses yet but if my daughter’s car seat had come with a cup holder I know it is something she would have used a lot during the last year and a half. She is always asking for her drink which I then have to try and find in the diaper bag during any stops we make then reach all the back to her (I am short so I sit very close to the steering wheel and her seat is moved in the farthest position back in our mini van so handing her anything takes real talent). I then have to take the cup from her by again reaching back or risk the cup leaking and just let her drop it on the floor. I am glad though that this is something I won’t have to struggle with regarding my son when he is old enough to start having drinks while he is in the car.

The cup holder I think is positioned right where my son will be able to easily remove and put back a sippy cup. It is also a removable cup holder so if it is something you choose not to use you can just take it off and put it in storage.

Chicco Nextfit Instruction

The last feature of the NextFit Convertible Car Seat that I want to share with you is the instructions located on the car seat.

Well here is where my laziness comes in. Yes the manual for the car seat is located at the bottom of the car seat so it is very accessible but sometimes it is nice to be able to see what you have to do right in front of your face without having to do anything. This is why I like that this car seat has instructions of how to install it located on stickers on the outside of the car seat. Of course as I install this car seat a few times I may start to remember how to install it for future times but let’s be honest, I am a mom and I forget what I had for breakfast by 11 am so having the instructions for car seat installation is a good thing for both my son’s safety and for my own sanity.

Those were some of my favorite features of the NextFit Convertible Car Seat. I also was able to record a short video so you can see some of these features in action and get a better idea of why I love this car seat so much.

Let me know what your favorite feature of the NextFit Convertible Car Seat is in the comments below!

*I received samples of the products mentioned above for free to facilitate this post. All opinions are mine.
