It’s almost Valentine’s Day and so it is that time of year when every store you go into is littered with pink and red and white, kids are coming home from school with Valentine treats and Pinterest moms are opening their craft bins to make cute Valentine’s Day crafts covered in glitter. Well if you are like me and you have a Valentine’s Day Pinterest board full of cute ideas and you wish you had more energy to bring some more Valentine’s Day joy to your home then check out this quick Valentine’s Day breakfast idea that I got after using Krusteaz!
Here are some of the Krusteaz products you can use for this Valentine’s Day breakfast idea! The specific mix I used was the buttermilk pancakes, they are my favorite and I love how they are so easy to make, just add water to the mix and they are ready to go.
Supplies:
- A squeeze bottle
- Krusteaz mix (I used the buttermilk pancake mix)
- food coloring (I used pink)
Directions:
1.Mix the pancake mix with the amount of water shown on the back of the box.
Another thing I love about these mixes is you don’t have to use the whole box at once, you can use part of the mix and save the rest for later. So I ended up using 3 cups of the mix which is almost the whole box but you can use less or even more than I did. These pancakes also do really well being frozen so if you make more than needed just stick them in a Ziploc bag and into the freezer for easy access for a busy morning.
2. Pour some of the pancake mix into your squeeze bottle and add a couple drops of the pink food coloring and mix until combined.
I left some of the pancake mix white for some fun pancake designs.
3. Make your pancakes.
Some ideas are to make different sized heart pancakes, make plain circle pancakes but add a saying or picture on it with the pink mix or do any crazy thing you would like. I especially liked the heart pancakes for my kids because they were a good size for them.
My daughter wanted me to make her some smiley faces, and yes that one in the middle has pink hair!
They didn’t come out perfect but I had fun doing something to bring some more Valentine’s Day festivities into our home in a fun and original way.
This is also a great idea for a Valentine’s Day Breakfast for dinner idea!
Add some pink eggs, we made these for breakfast this morning and they take a little getting used to but my daughter loved them, some pink blueberry muffins and some pink waffles and your ready to have a rockin’ Valentine’s Day Breakfast for dinner!

This would be so useful. When I ask my grandsons what they want for dinner it’s always pancakes, sausage as eggs. So usually2-3 times a month lol
