My oldest daughter is starting to get into girlie things, such as makeup. She loves being able to put on lip-gloss and lip-balm, and if given the opportunity, she would do it every minute of the day. Growing up, I was rarely allowed to use makeup or things to make me feel “pretty” and “girlie,” so I like to give my daughter the opportunity to seek out her desires and feel good about herself. The only problem is that the lip-glosses and lip-balms (aka chap stick) she picks out, typically with princesses on it targeted specifically to children, have harsh chemicals in them and either dry her lips and skin causing pain and damage to them, or they are excessively sticky and gross.
It is hard to tell your daughter when she comes asking “do I look pretty” after an application of sticky lip-gloss, that no – in fact it isn’t very flattering. Enter this new all-natural skin care product line I have recently been introduced to, Klēn. Their motivation to begin their business fit exactly with my problems and beliefs. They understand my current situation, as moms and women who struggle to find the right products to give their children and themselves.
The products they have created are all-natural and help to heal damaged lips and skin. All while being safe to ingest as well. I’m certainly not suggesting you order their lip-balm and take a huge bite out of it, but if your small child happened to get a hold of it and have a light snack, it wouldn’t cause any need to call poison control. Their all-natural approach brings me peace of mind when my daughters use their products because I know they can’t overdo it.
Klēn has provided me with a package of some of their skin and lip products so I could form an opinion and share it with you. Regardless of this arrangement, I was not required to give a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own honest thoughts.
Let me show you the items I was sent and tell you about them.
This product is targeted towards the younger generation, but they also have lip-balm called Klēn Balm which is targets towards teens and adults. I was sent four different flavors to try strawberry, vanilla, watermelon, and bubble gum. One word sums up how I feel about this product. Heaven. My lips have yearned to feel this smooth from a lip-balm for years. It is smooth, not heavy, and makes me feel like puckering up and kissing everyone. Ha!
It does not cause my lips to dry out, it is not heavy or sticky. Knowing how it feels on me, I gladly give it to my girls to use, I even let my son use it too. After all, lip-balm is gender neutral. The only thing that is a tad disappointing about this lip-balm are the classified flavors. From smell and taste I cannot tell which flavor is which. There is a small scent difference between them all, but that is about it. I would like to see the flavors increased. I plan on ordering some of their Klēn Balm in mint and lemon lavender. I can’t wait to get it.
I was sent three flavors of the Klēn Gloss strawberry mint, champagne, and vanilla orange. This is another great product that my lips love. When I put it on my lips they stay lubricated and glossy for a while. My lips do not get sticky, like some other all-natural and name brand lip-glosses I have tried. When paired with the Gator Balm I am taken to a whole new world of lip comfort. For some funny, yet true psychological reason, when I use the two products together I have a confidence boost. As if my lips are telling everyone how great they feel and look. I haven’t introduced this to my 7 year old daughter yet, but I plan to let her wear it soon, and may even give her a container of her own. (Baby steps here people, baby steps…it is hard seeing your little girl do big girl things.)
I carry strawberry mint with me wherever I go. I love the feeling mint gives my lips and that is why I like this one the most. Similar to the Gator Balm, these glosses lack flavor in both smell and taste. I like to be able to put on lip gloss and have a good taste in my mouth afterwards as well. Unfortunately, the flavor factor just isn’t there, but everything else is, so I will continue to use them and recommend them as well.
This lip scrub is hands down the best product I was sent to review. It is an all-natural lip exfoliator that moisturizes and exfoliates my lips perfectly. Have you ever done a lip exfoliator before? I had before this one, but it wasn’t made with natural ingredients and it tasted awful! When using a lip exfoliator it is almost impossible to not get any in your mouth, but with the Klēn Lip Scrub, I welcome it there. Not only does it do a great job, it tastes great too. (Hooray for good taste!!) It is made with sucralose, honey, vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, olea europaea (olive) oil, and natural flavoring. The container seemed small at first, but once I applied my first treatment I realized that I will get a lot of use out of it. Absolutely a must have item.
The Ultimate Lip Treatment Trio
My lip dream team is now consists of using the Klēn Lip Scrub, followed by the Gator Balm, and ending with some Klēn Gloss. This trio is a perfect combination and would make an AMAZING gift for anyone, young or old. I just noticed also that Klēn has come out with a lip-balm for men, so making a gift package for a man in your life with the Klēn Lip Scrub and Klēn Balm for men would be equally as amazing. Talk about lips worth kissing right there. Yes!
This product is great. Its purpose is to help “calm itches, sooth the skin, decrease swelling, help with pain, and reduce redness. Klēn Magic provides antibacterial, antiviral, disinfecting, astringent, antimicrobial, antifungal, and antibiotic benefits.” (I quoted that straight from their website, thank you.) The container it come in is lightweight and perfect to take with you everywhere you go. I have used it for small cuts, calluses on my feet, cuticles on my nails, bug bites, and dry cracked skin. I have experienced the magic working and have seen cuts healed quicker and dry skin moisturized.
An all-natural bug repellant gets two thumbs up from me. I hate spraying my kids with bug spray because it usually gets in their eyes, leaves their hair and skin extremely greasy, and it leaves an undesirable scent. The Klēn BugAway spray goes on easy with a nice misting spray, is not greasy, and does not smell horrid. Because it is all-natural, is it safe for both infant and adult. I recommend you gently shake up the bottle before use. I look forward to using this all summer long as my family and I go on adventures in the outdoors.
Klēn sent me two different flavors of lotion bars to try, vanilla orange and fragrance free. This product is not my favorite but once I found out how it works best with my body, I enjoy it a little more than when I first began using it. Both bars left my hands and skin greasy after I applied them. I wasn’t able to pick up or open anything until the lotion had absorbed. I typically have very dry hands, and with these products I was able to massage the lotion into my hands and get a deep moisturizing, which, once the lotion had settled, left my hands feeling very smooth and soft. I prefer the fragrance free lotion bar and use it before bedtime on my hands, feet and elbows. When I wake up, my skin is soft and moisturized. It seems the more often I use it, the softer my skin becomes.
Overall, Klēn is definitely a company I would recommend ordering from. They have a wide range of products that are safe for kids to use and can give you a great daily boost to your skin and body. You can create amazing personalized packages for those you cherish as well. Put together a spa day in a basket, body essentials kit, or as mentioned before a lavish lip treatment as a gift to anyone anywhere. They also have wholesale options for those who may be interested in carrying their products in your businesses.
