Have you heard of these Teach my Baby, Toddler, Preschooler kits? I now have experience with these and let me just say that it is the best thing ever! I don’t think I have ever been so fond of a product as this one. It is amazing how much this has already helped my daughter and we’ve only had it for 3 weeks. This is a gift I want to get my sister when she has her first child. It’s that good! Okay so I’m talking up a storm about this product…do you want to see details with it? Let me explain!
Firstly, I chose to get my daughter the Teach My Baby Kit. I could of chose to use the Teach my Toddler kit. But I felt like the Teach my Baby kit would be better and I am glad with the decision I made! Each kit comes with a box and inside the box is a plastic brief case looking thing. My 15 month old lugs this around with her and screams and cries until I open up the brief case so she can get the things inside.
Below is a picture of all the kits it came with-First Words, Self, Sound & Touch, and Numbers. I was amazed of all of the stuff they were able to fit into a tiny little box. Each kit comes with a book of what the subject is. I will get into this a little later though.
I am now going to explain each individual packet and what it comes with.
The first packet that my daughter pulled out was the SELF. The self packet is targeted towards the babies body parts on the face. This packet came with the following items:
-Mirrored nesting blocks
-Mirrored flash cards
This one was my favorite packet out of all of them. My daughter loves to take the flash cards and look at herself in the mirror.
On each mirrored nesting block it has a certain part like eyes, hair, nose, etc., then it has a mirror so the baby can look at that body part themselves. This is really helping my daughter learn more of her face features. She use to only know where the nose is and know she knows where her nose, eyes, and ears are!
The mirrored flash cards are great too. It shows a face feature then you turn it around and it tells you to find that feature.
The next packet we pulled out was Numbers. The numbers one came with the following:
-5 finger puppets
-A storyboard that is double-sided
This packet was my daughters favorite one. She loves the finger puppets. She doesn’t like to put them on though. I was able to snap a photo of her with a puppet on her finger. I can’t believe I got it before she flung it off her finger! She could play with these all day if I let her!
The next packet is the Sounds & Touch, another favorite of my daughters. This packet includes:
-2 piece puzzles
-Touch and feel flashcards
My daughter loves animals right now. If I tell her to say “cat” she’ll say “meow”. I can’t get her to say the animal name but at least she knows the sound.
She doesn’t know how to use the two piece puzzles as yet, but it will come with time I am sure.
The flash cards, to me, are the best in this packet. My daughter LOVES LOVES touch and feel books, so these flash cards are awesome for her. The front has a picture and you can feel the animal and the back is almost like a little book and it helps your child focus on what that certain animal does. It’s great for kids to interact. I love the last part on the flashcard that says, “Let’s find something that feels smooth (pig) or woolly (sheep). It involves your children in other things and is great.
The last one is First Words. The things in this packet include:
-One piece puzzles
This one was probably the least favorite packet for my daughter. I guess she doesn’t know many words. Puzzles just don’t keep her entertained in this time of her life. The only way she can be engaged in this one is if I physically set her on my lap. That will only last her a few minutes. This might work better for her when she is older.
You have to be very careful on these puzzle pieces. They are almost paper thin when you take the puzzle piece out. My suggestion is not to pop the puzzle piece out from the back because it may break it.
Overall we LOVED this kit. It is helping my daughter learn and grow much more and I can’t wait to use it with her every day! I would recommend this especially to any new mother. I wish I would of had it when she was 9 months old to start her with this young. I think getting kids to learn at a young age is good and so does the Teach My company.
Make sure you visit their website Teach My and see what kits might be good for you. They even offer and sell the packets separately if you wish to work on one certain area for your kids.
