I participated in this sponsored campaign for One2One Network. I received a product sample to facilitate my post, but all opinions stated are my own.
During these hot summer days when your trying to keep active with your family it is important to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. Water is great for your and I am not going to knock it to much but it doesn’t contain any electrolytes which are very important to keeping your muscles and nerves hydrated. After exercising or working outside in the hot sun you sweat allot not only losing water but also important electrolytes. One solution that has been advertised on TV for decades is a certain electrolyte replacement drink that I wont mention by name. But if you have watched any team sporting events on TV you will most likely notice jugs full of this liquid on the sidelines.
Now for years this energy drink was the go to drink for athletes who wanted to stay hydrated. The big problem I see with this drink is the high sugar content it contains and the unnatural ingredients. I even worry about the sugar free versions of these drinks since they contain artificial sweeteners, which may be harmful to our bodies. When it comes down to my health and the health of my children I prefer that they don’t have all of these sugary drinks. On the other side my kids get a bit bored with water all the time so I was really searching for a better healthy alternative than juices, sodas, energy drinks and other products out there that are marketed to our children.
Recently I was introduced to a new product called Vita Coco Kids.
They are naturally fruit flavored coconut water from the makers of Vita Coco. When I first heard about this I remembered trying coconut water years ago when it was all the rage and I didn’t care much for it. I remember hearing on the news how celebrities like Madonna swore by coconut water but I just couldn’t get into it. I guess the makers of coconut water like Vita Coco have done their homework and figured out how to make coconut water tastier. Because Vita Coco Kids truly tastes great.
They come in three different flavors; Apple Island, Paradise Punch and Very Cherry Beach.
They come in these convenient pouches with little straws, making them perfect for lunchboxes and backpacks. But before I got all excited I had to let the kids taste them since that’s whom they were for.
So after chilling them in the fridge for several hours I let my friends two children and my husband try each of the flavors. I would have gave them to my kids as well but my kids are chilling with my mother for their summer vacation in Europe. My friend told me later that her kids liked their Vita Coco drinks and sent me this cute shot.
And my husband liked all of the flavors however the Paradise Punch was a group favorite. My husband kept asking if it was really coconut water? I assured him it was. I guess he too had a bad experience with coconut water in the past.
Well I’m sure we will be having nothing but good experience with Vita Coco Kids drinks in the future. We are looking forward to checking out some of the other flavors that they have in their other Vita Coco products. Oh one more thing I forgot to mention that compared to most fruit drinks Vita Coco has less than half the amount of sugar. Plus you get the added benefit of an important electrolyte Potassium and Vitamin C.
