Okay so this past Saturday was my daughter’s birthday party. We were very busy preparing to host 2 parties 🙂 Not only did I invite my daughter’s friends I also invited some adults as well. You know some of the parents of the kids attending the party, family, and our personal friends. Of course we had appetizers, adult food, and some drinks to go around. This was also a great opportunity to introduce everyone one to a new product that I was asked to review. This product is Dole Fruit Crisps.
They are a combination of Dole fruits with some crispy crunchy oat topping that you add. The flavors that they came in were apple-cinnamon, apple-pear, and peach. So basically you have the combination of healthy fruit with a nice healthy crunchiness of oats. The Dole Fruit Crisps came in a handy two-pack container.
After dinner I placed Dole Crisps out on the table and just sat back an observed my guests comments.
It is interesting to see the reactions of different people when confronted with a new dessert. Some of them picked up the container and when straight to the nutrition information. While others just said, “Hmmm.. That looks tasty”. The friends that were looking at the nutrition information were surprised that they were only 160 calories each. One commented that was fewer calories than yogurt. Another guest commented that the sugar content seemed a bit high. Then another guest reminded her that the sugar was coming from the fruit. It wasn’t added sugar.
Although most of the sugar does come the fruit there is some added sugar so I had to make the correction. Still even with the little bit of added sugar the Dole Fruit Crisps had less sugar than most yogurts out there. With all nutrition talk aside my guests were eager to try this new dessert. We all went around the table and opened them up and dug in. There were allot of mmmm’s and these are good heard around the table. I had to agree with the mmmm’s, this surely was a tasty dessert. And I for one loved the crunchiness that the oats brought to the table. Out of all of the adults who were present only one voiced a complaint. That was my mother in law and she said, “These are just too good.” I guess that’s a complaint we can live with right?
Overall the new Dole Fruit Crisps were a hit with everyone at my party. We talked about when we don’t have time to prepare a mid-day snack or an after dinner dessert, DOLE Fruit Crisps are a quick fix to satisfy your cravings. I especially liked that Dole shared with us “10 Quick fixes and tips for busy women”
Everyone enjoyed the DOLE’s list. I know I did. We also picked few of our favorites.
#2 Don’t have time for the gym? Try doing leg extensions under your desk by straightening your legs in front of you while contracting your quadriceps muscles. Hold this position for 4-5 sec. Repeat 20 times, for 3 sets.
#6 Hate chipped nails? When you get a manicure, invest in a color marker that is similar to your nail polish color. Then you can quickly fill in the chip without having to run back to a salon.
#7 Lay out your clothes on Sunday eve for the week ahead. This will save you some time in the morning and you will be less overwhelmed.
#9 It may take 15 minutes to do a morning makeup routine but when you hit the snooze one too many times – and we’ve all been there – make sure to have a 2 minute makeup routine. Some moisturizer, a little concealer or light foundation, mascara and lipgloss is a nice pulled together look.
#10 A wrinkled shirt and no time to iron? Keep a spray bottle filled with water mixed with a couple drops of fabric softener. Mist the shirt and throw it in the dryer for 5 mins – TADA! Wrinkles be gone and your shirt is good to go
Please feel free to share the quick fixes with your friends and/or pin the photo above to your Pinterest boards. What is your favorite/most helpful tip?
Moms were also impressed because the package contained 2 Dole Fruit crisps cups and there were plenty left over party favors to take home.
I would be happy to buy these in the future as a nice addition to snack time. Thanks DOLE for allowing me to host this party with Dole-licious Fruit crisps easy snacks. The following day after my guests left my husband suggested to try DOLE Fruit crisps with Vanilla Ice cream with some sprinkles of whole grain oats. We warmed up Dole Fruits Cinnamon Apple flavor for 10 seconds in the microwave, added to vanilla ice cream, sprinkled some oats on top. We found this to be even better or #1(a) quick fix snack or delish dessert. I will recommend this to you to try it also..:)
I wrote this review while participating in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Dole. I received product samples to facilitate my party and review, and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
