I waited on a gas line by my house for 4 hours this morning. (Gas station on the corner of Yellowstone bl and Woodhaven bl. in Queens) I couldn’t figure out why it was going so slow. When I got close to the station I saw that the owner blocked off half of his pumps to the line. He reserved the other half for a secret line. If you paid for a car wash you would then come out on this very short line. I asked the cop if he could do anything and he told me he couldn’t. It was the guys business he could do what he wants. It amazes me that in a time of need there are still people that are willing to take advantage of others all for a profit.
Anyways I am happy I got the gas today and filled up the tank for the first time since Hurricane Sandy. I can drive my kids to school!
This photo above is a line to get fuel outside of a gas station in Queens, NY on November 9. This line was 6 hours long.
